Are Christians supposed to be Christlike?
To some of you this may seem like an obvious question with an obvious answer.
Now of course Jesus was perfect without sin, I don't think any of us are perfect or without sin.
But can we be "like" Him?
Should we try to be like Him?
Does our salvation depend on being like Him? (probably a can of worms)
What does being "like" Jesus mean?
Now obviously we probably can't be exactly like Him in every way (or can we?)
But if not, then what ways should we or shouldn't we?
What does it mean to be a disciple of Jesus?
Should we try to be disciples of Jesus?
1 Cor 11:1; Be imitators of me, just as I also am of Christ.
Matt 10:24; "A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a slave above his master.
Matt 10:25; "It is enough for the disciple that he become like his teacher, and the slave like his master. If they have called the head of the house Beelzebul, how much more will they malign the members of his household!
1 Pet 1:14; As obedient children, do not be conformed to the former lusts which were yours in your ignorance,
1 Pet 1:15; but like the Holy One who called you, be holy yourselves also in all your behavior;
1 Pet 1:16; because it is written, "YOU SHALL BE HOLY, FOR I AM HOLY."
