Do you believe in Near Death Experiences?

What a tough question.
With modern medicine, some people are dead(dying) and then brought back to life.
Rather interesting, is the white tunnel a satanic deception?
Not all occurances of NDE see the tunnel.
I once heard a testimony from a Christian lady who died waiting for an operation. She said "the tunnel were the stars as she was travelling so quickly". A stunning testimony that troubled me for a period of time.
She became a Christian as a result of the NDE.
I really do not know, I will have to wait until my number comes up.

I agree that some are making them up, but none of them are dreaming when their heart as stopped and no brain activity is indicated on an EEG. Hallucanations aren't valid either if their brain has stopped functioning. There are many cases on NDEs and some mention Jesus while others don't. However, all of them claim that this energy of light is of complete knowledge and 100% pure love and forgiveness. It sounds to me like a particular figure in the bible.:wink:Possibly dreams/imagination and some are making it up.imo

One brethren stopped by my table at a truck stop and shared "the Blood of Christ, the Fire of the Holy Ghost" that was on my tee shirt, is the motto of the salvation Army and left.
15 min. later he came back and told me God told him to come back and share what God SHOWED him and did for him.
He was told he had a day to live that they did all they could. Our brethren told his wife to leave him to die since she was with him for months going through this process.. so she left.
A white light appeared under his cot and a few beings came out of it. One reached over and held his foot and a heat went from his foot through out his body and he was healed in that instant.
He called his wife by phone and excitedly said that God had healed him. ....Her reply..(LOL) WHERE ARE YOU AT?
The Doctors and others would ask him why God heals some and not all.
During a short time span many have came to me, through God to tell me of such things God showed and did for them. There was a reason our Abba Father wanted me to know these things and yes they do happen!!!!!

I agree that some are making them up, but none of them are dreaming when their heart as stopped and no brain activity is indicated on an EEG. Hallucanations aren't valid either if their brain has stopped functioning.
You should keep in mind the periods when the brain is both dieing and when it's reactivating. It's entirely possible that during these times when the brain isnt fuctioning 100% that the NDE type occurences happen.

Jack, I agree but I still KNOW that God has been doing things like this through out the Bible and does them now.
I know of way, way too many NUT CASES ( I lovingly call them that) that have seen, experienced like things by God. I just had lunch today with a lady that is one of these..LOL..nut jobs.

Where the soul leaves the body and enters a tunnel of bright white loving light...
The first thing that needs to be discarded is the belief that the soul is immortal, that it can leave the body. At Genesis 2:7, it says that "Jehovah God proceeded to form the man out of dust from the ground and to blow into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man came to be a living soul." What does it say about the soul ? That Jehovah God placed a soul within Adam or that Adam, upon God blowing "into his nostrils the breath of life", "came to be a living soul" ?
It does not say that God put within Adam a soul but that Adam became a "living soul", just as a young man, upon receiving his diploma from an accredited medical school, has become a doctor, not possessing a doctor. The apostle Paul wrote: "So also it is written, The first man Adam became a living soul. The last Adam became a life-giving spirit."(1 Cor 15:45, American Standard Version)
At Jeremiah 2:34, in condemning the nation of Israel, God told them that "in your skirts there have been found the blood marks of the souls of the innocent poor ones." Thus, the soul has blood. Just before the Israelites were to enter the land of Canaan, Moses told them that these "will be certain to say, ‘Let me eat meat,’ because your soul craves to eat meat, whenever your soul craves it you may eat meat."(Deut 12:20)
Hence, the soul "craves to eat meat." What does this mean ? That the soul is us as a person, with all our desires, and that it can live or it can die, for at Ezekiel 18:4, God says: "Look! All the souls—to me they belong. As the soul of the father so likewise the soul of the son—to me they belong. The soul that is sinning—it itself will die."
Some "Near Death Experiences" are maybe what is also called "Out of Body Experiences", in which individuals feel that they have died, but can then see themselves from "above". A Neurobiology article a few years ago (2003) stated this:
"OBEs are brief sensations that occur when a person feels as if his mind separates from his body. During OBEs, people sense that they are floating above their own bodies. No one knows what causes OBEs, but some people believe that OBEs are religious or spiritual events. Interestingly, many people who have come close to death report that they have had an OBE
Researchers from the University Hospitals of Geneva and Lausanne (Switzerland) have found that OBEs can be produced by direct electrical stimulation of a specific part of the brain. Dr. Olaf Blanke (Prof., M.D., Ph.D. Laboratory of Cognitive Neuroscience Brain-Mind Institute) and his colleagues worked with a 43-year-old female patient who suffered from right temporal lobe epilepsy. In order to identify the location where the seizures occurred, the researchers implanted electrodes on the brain under the patient's dura. While the patient was awake, the researchers could pass electrical current through the electrodes to identify the function of the brain area under each electrode.
Electrical stimulation of the angular gyrus on the right side of the patient's brain produced unusual sensations. Weak stimulation caused the patient to feel as if she was "sinking into the bed" or "falling from a height." Stronger electrical stimulation caused the patient to have an OBE.
For example, the patient said, "I see myself lying in bed, from above, but I only see my legs and lower trunk." Stimulation of the angular gyrus at other times caused the woman to have feelings of "lightness" and of "floating" two meters above the bed.
The angular gyrus is located near the vestibular (balance) area of the cerebral cortex. It is likely that electrical stimulation of the angular gyrus interrupts the ability of the brain to make sense of information related to balance and touch. This interruption may result in OBEs. Blood flow changes within the angular gyrus may alter brain activity during "near death experiences." This may result in OBEs reported by people who survive such events."
How complex and well-made the human mind is by our Creator, Jehovah God. It was designed to provide us with the full use of all our senses forever on a paradise earth (Ps 37:29; Luke 23:43), with never a worry about "near death experiences", for death will be completely eradicated from the earth, being thrown into the symbolic "lake of fire".(Rev 20:14)

so I got a few questions
I suspect if they are trying to reach the light it is not a good sign. it means they are in the dark now in this life. wanting to be where it is warm and light would be expected if you are dead and cold and where you are is dark?

so just because they perceive some kind of 'light' it does not mean it is him either.

so He says here ..
IF He has to wake us, we would be dead right?
If it is dark where we are when we wake , are we born of his light?
Did we have the 'new birth' of our new being ?
Did we allow Him to raise us in our 'new being', born in his light/life/into the laws /foundational truths of his" new kingdom' and our new being?
NO I suspect hell is one pursuit of "light ' not really light as much and mostly 'warmth" one pursuit after another in pursuit of that warmth .. but never catching it. just as they did in this life. but they wanted 'life' and warmth ..with out 'light' and without law/light.. thus wanted 'light' without Him to create life in them.
oh I do believe these visions are easy for them to have and real to the one having them.
but I am convinced they do not know what they are really seeing and thus not perceiving correctly..
interpreting the truest meaning of spiritual things is always the hard part . because the spiritual world is so very foreign to our carnal mind. so yes I am sure they are convinced the endless "light" is the Father .. but I doubt it is Him.

That the soul is us as a person can be seen also of Jesus Christ, for Isaiah 53:12 says that "he poured out his soul to the very death." Thus, he was a living soul that died.(Matt 26:38) That is why Peter told the Jews: "This Jesus God resurrected, of which fact we are all witnesses."(Acts 2:32)
The soul has blood traveling through it's veins (Jer 2:34), craves to eat (Deut 12:20), is put to death for eating blood (Lev 17:10), blood was used as atonement for souls (Lev 17:11), destroyed (and thus not immortal) for failing to observe the sabbath under the Mosaic Law, for Leviticus 23:30 says: " And whatsoever soul it be that doeth any work in that same day, the same soul will I destroy from among his people."(King James Bible)
The Hebrew word for soul is ne´phesh, and in Greek, psy·khe´. The connotations that the English “soul” commonly carries in the minds of most persons are not in agreement with the meaning of the Hebrew and Greek words as used by the inspired Bible writers. This fact has steadily gained wider acknowledgment. Back in 1897, in the Journal of Biblical Literature (Vol. XVI, p. 30), Professor C. A. Briggs, as a result of detailed analysis of the use of ne´phesh, observed: “Soul in English usage at the present time conveys usually a very different meaning from [ne´phesh] in Hebrew, and it is easy for the incautious reader to misinterpret.”
The New Catholic Encyclopedia says: “Nepes [ne´phesh] is a term of far greater extension than our ‘soul,’ signifying life (Ex 21.23; Dt 19.21) and its various vital manifestations: breathing (Gn 35.18; Jb 41.13[21]), blood [Gn 9.4; Dt 12.23; Ps 140(141).8], desire (2 Sm 3.21; Prv 23.2). The soul in the O[ld] T[estament] means not a part of man, but the whole man-man as a living being. Similarly, in the N[ew] T[estament] it signifies human life: the life of an individual, conscious subject (Mt 2.20; 6.25; Lk 12.22-23; 14.26; Jn 10.11, 15, 17; 13.37).”-1967, Vol. XIII, p. 467.

Genesis 3:3 says they would die. yes they died that day. something eternal in us died that day.
what most folks really don't understand is that was his gift , the gift of mortality was his gift and mercy for their failure and ours now .
