No commandments greater than these. How?

Do you really think that liars, thieves, and murders are "sitting together in heavenly places with Christ"?
Obviously you have no idea of the "foreknowledge" of God in his being able to identify from the beginning of the world who the people would be who would choose life over death.

That puts a pretty big gap between who IS God's and who ISN'T, eh?
Liars and thieves and murders don't "come to Me".

Jesus did not come to call the righteous, but sinners!!!!

Luk 5:32 I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

Back on topic

who who in this thread says that they can Love there neighbor as themselves 24/7 I will be the first to admit I fail at this but will try better. Just curios on how others are doing with this.
If nobody else can, why do you suppose you will ever be able to?
But be of good cheer!
God has enabled me to love my neighbor 24/7.
All I had to do was "turn from" sin and be washed in the blood of Christ Jesus for the remission of my past sins.
For doing those two things, God gave me His Spirit so I can continue to walk in grace and peace..

"meager efforts". What does this mean? (I don't mean the spelling) For example... the people in the Bible.
Let us take Moses and the Red Sea. Was it God or Moses that caused the Red Sea to separate? I assume you will say God.
Was it David or God that killed Goliath? I assume you will say God.
Was it Elijah or God that caused fire to come down from heaven and consume the offering? I assume you will say God.

Now we could say it was because of Moses/David/Elijah "meager efforts" I suppose. But in the end... the sea still separated.
The giant was still killed. The fire still came down.

What God wanted was still accomplished in the end, despite however "weak" the people He used were.
Why do we think.. even with God helping us.... we can not accomplish perfect love?

Besides, as I pointed our earlier... if we only have to love them "as we love ourselves".. does it even have to be perfectly? Do we love
ourselves perfectly?
Ok. I can't even spell meagre.

Don't see what's difficult to understand in what I wrote. My love for my neighbour is wholly inadequate, but God still uses it for his glory.

Scripture did NOT say someday we will be "raised" this happened 2,000 years ago.
Our "vessel" will be raise on the last day.

Eph 2:5 even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved—
Eph 2:6 and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,
We are raised with Christ...from the death of trespasses and sin. (Rom 6:4-5)

You again have no idea the difference between the spirit resurrection that happened when Jesus, and his Church was raised at the same time, and the resurrection of the body!!! Which is why it is called the resurrection of the "dead". The word, "dead" means "corpse" which means "body"!
If you want to call our resurrection from the death of trespasses and sins, (when we were raised with Christ to walk in newness of life) "spiritual", I have no problem with that.
But I take that spiritual resurrection literally.
I was crucified with Christ, literally.
I was buried with Christ, literally.
And I was raised with Christ to walk in newness of life, literally. (Rom 6:3-6)
Perhaps that is the reason those verses, 3-6, have manifested the results seen in the seventh verse of Romans 6..."For he that is dead is freed from sin."
As you didn't see those results, it makes me wonder if your POV may have contributed to your continued walk in darkness.
What do you think?

It is obvious you have no idea that man has two natures, and until you learn that you will always get the scriptures wrong!
My old nature was killed on the cross with Christ.
I was raised with Christ to walk in newness of life.
A life with a divine nature.
Thanks be to God.

Just curious... if we don't end up in heaven/Abraham's Bosom/Paradise/The New Jerusalem (whatever you want to call it)
and we don't end up in Hades/The Lake of Fire (whatever you want to call it)

Where do we end up? I don't really see any other options in the Bible.

I think you are referring to my remark about 'not all Christians are part of the bride'? The bride has made herself ready....Some Christians are waiting for God to make them ready, when God says we are to do that. Soooo....If you have not made yourself ready you miss out on being the bride but you are still saved, you still go to heaven, you are part of the 'wedding party' not the bride.

Even Jesus needed to be alone sometimes. Matt 14:23; John 6:15;

There are times when I'm too tired to do things even for myself. I'm a little hungry. I could get up and cook something.
I could even drive to a fast-food drive thru and buy something. But I'm too tired. It'll wait a little while.

Do we make it harder than it has to be?

I wonder that if I make it harder then it needs to be sometimes also "do I make it to hard on myself." but I always think back to Jesus carrying that cross and dying for me and realize just how hard he made it for himself.

I may not even have a clear understanding of what loving your neighbor as yourself is, I think it is when you put there needs ahead of my need that is what Jesus did for us.

Jesus did need alone time for prayer but did he ever turn away anyone because of it??

Philippians 2:3
Do nothing from rivalry or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves.

Philippians 2:4
Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.

The Apostle Paul had no problems with "approving" the stoning of Stephen in Acts 8:1, in fact he thought he was doing good! That is NOT what he is saying in Romans 7:20...
I agree.

Rom 7:20 Now if I do what I do not want, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells within me.
That would be really stupid to approve of someones stoning, and at the same time not approving it!!
I agree.

What Paul is saying here is after his salvation he found out within himself a "desire" not to do wrong, but he kept doing wrong which he comes to the conclusion that it was NOT himself doing the wrong but sin that was in his flesh.
Romans 7 is about Paul's lament at not being able to live according to the law....as a Pharisee-Jew. Desiring to, but unable.
He moans about wanting to do good but finding himself unable. (Rom 7:15)
He delights in God's law, in his inner self, but can't find it within himself to carry out his own wishes. (Rom 7:22-23)
He sees, and blames, a law of sin, in his members. (Rom 7:23)
He rhetorically wonders who will save him from this condition. (Rom 7:24) Romans 6:6 has already answered that question.
And as for the "law of sin in his members", Romans 8:2 describes how Paul was freed from that "law".
"For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death." (Rom 8:2)

So, the body of death was dealt with..."Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
For he that is dead is freed from sin.

Thanks be to God.

How can that be if scripture says every one born of God "cannot sin" ?
1Jn 3:9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
It is the false Christians who manifest that they are not born of Godly seed.

Obviously you have no idea of the "foreknowledge" of God in his being able to identify from the beginning of the world who the people would be who would choose life over death.
That didn't answer my question.
Will thieves, liars, and murderers be ""sitting together in heavenly places with Christ"?

Jesus did not come to call the righteous, but sinners!!!!

Luk 5:32 I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
I agree.
But those who "come to Christ" don't continue being unrighteous.

Thank you, Curtis, for following along on this thread in an effort to better yourself.
May God open that which has been closed to you and close that which has hobbled you in the past.

That didn't answer my question.
Will thieves, liars, and murderers be ""sitting together in heavenly places with Christ"?

1Co 6:10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.
1Co 6:11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

It is the false Christians who manifest that they are not born of Godly seed.

Are you one of the "foolish" virgins who look real but are false? As Jesus said he did not know you!!!!!

Mat 25:11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.
Mat 25:12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.

If you are a real Christian then would you know with out a shadow of doubt you have eternal life!!!!
If you were areal Christian you would know you do sin, and anyone, are no matter who they are says they have no sin they are a liar, and the truth is not in them.
If you are without discipline then you are NOT a child of God because ALL Christians are disciplined by God, and if you are without discipline which all are partakers of, then you are NOT a child of God!!!!

He moans about wanting to do good but finding himself unable. (Rom 7:15)

No body "moans" to do good, and not do it unless that person was already regenerated by the Holy Spirit!!!! Before Paul's conversion he had no problems having Christian murdered!!!

And I was raised with Christ to walk in newness of life, literally. (Rom 6:3-6)
According to my Bible, I was raised with Christ, and I am sitting in Heavenly places in Christ!!!! Are you, or are you waiting for that to happen?

Eph 2:5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved
Eph 2:6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
