SignUp Now!To care for it, and protect it. And, after God gave him Eve, to be fruitful and multiply. Genesis 1:28 -
"And God blessed them. And God said to them, 'Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth'.”
This is what God told Adam to do before he told him not to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Adam's job was to "care", and to "protect" the garden. Did Adam do that?
I am not making anything up, just referring to the scriptures and seeing things in a little different light than what has taught for years. I also believe Adam disobeyed God by not "protecting" the garden which caused him to sin. That is my understanding, yes.
I see nothing in scripture that supports Adam was responsible for the Serpent to be in the Garden, only that he was responsible for obeying and not eating the fruit! If Adam disobeyed God by not "protecting" the garden which allowed the serpent into his garden that would have been a "transgression" on his part
Did God tell Adam to protect the garden? What happens when you do not do what God tells you to do?I see nothing in scripture that supports Adam was responsible for the Serpent to be in the Garden, only that he was responsible for obeying and not eating the fruit!
OK, have it as you wish, but the big problem I see is that, your discussion has nothing to do with promoting the gospel and further the kingdom of God....which is what we should be about!Did God tell Adam to protect the garden? What happens when you do not do what God tells you to do?
The Bible is filled with examples of what happens to people who disobey!
How about the scripture that says, "give the Devil no place". This holds today as it did in the beginning.
Is not giving place to the Devil not Bible doctrine? How about not sinning is that spoken about in the scriptures. How about the garden of Eden and God telling Adam to protect it, is that not in the the Bible?OK, have it as you wish, but the big problem I see is that, your discussion has nothing to do with promoting the gospel and further the kingdom of God....which is what we should be about!
How about protecting your own family from Satan's devices in how he can deceive to cause destruction to a family of God. Is this good to know or not?

Someone might say this could not be true or Adam would have died after he sinned. God did not tell Adam what would have happened if he disobeyed in not protecting the garden. Not until God told Adam if he ate from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil would he actually die. Even though the scripture does say what happened to Adam when he allowed the serpent into the garden, but I think we can see it affected his judgement in dealing with his temptation.
The scripture tells us that when "tempted" God will not allow us to tempted above what wee are able, and God will provide a way to escape. This plan (way) to escape can only happen if you are in fellowship with God..
Sin separates us from God. Without that fellowship we will never find out how to escape temptations!! I believe Adam fell into that position. Where was God when Adam and Eve were being tempted of the serpent? He was right there watching this whole event happen.

Hi sister, The Lord God was with Adam and guided him and taught him things just like the Lord does with us today. Adam had "authority" over all the works of God's hands, including fallen Angels. Adam was anointed and he was crowned with Glory. Adam knew what was happening he was not deceived, but Eve was. Adam is the very first recorded "watchmen" in the world. A watchman is a person who is to watch over something and give warning when danger is approaching. Adam's job was to watch over, and protect God's garden from intruders that could cause harm to him and Eve. His family was in jeopardy and he was responsible for it. All husbands are suppose to take on the exact same role as the head of his family. We find another "watchman" in the prophet.Ezekiel....As i think about what you are saying here, God brought something to my mind. Adam was told about not eating the fruit, but as you said Adam did not do anything To tell the serpent to leave, casting it out (or at least it is not recorded). Or tell Eve, don't eat that fruit.
But before the devil entered the serpent, wasn't the serpent a good reptile? So how could Adam have known that the serpent had been possessed?
The Devil has no rules in his ways. If he can not get to the man directly, he will go through his wife, or the other way around. He will use anyone who will let him.Thank you for the reminder of not giving the devil a foothold, or a place on our lives. I have herd, preachers talk about how even by our attitude or just one small grumble in our minds, can give the devil a tiny crack to get in to cause us to be tempted.
Unforgiveness is a huge one too! If a husband and wife fall into strife, even in a small way, it just gives way to bigger things. But if we would remember that we are not one another's enemy then we could join forces and cause that foul spirit to turn tail and run.
