12 Ways to be Transformed by the Renewing of Our Mind

Renewal begins by offering up our whole body, soul, mind and spirit to the Lord. Luke 10:27 tells us, “And he answered, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind…” It takes a conscious effort to present oneself to the Lord by disciplining ourselves for godliness.

    BETH YESHUA HaMASHIACH
    MESSIANIC SYNAGOGUE

    Hello and shalom to all,

I am rabbi Jim, associate rabbi at Beth Yeshua synagogue. Our past rabbi, Rabbi Gus Elowitz, who went home to be with the LORD, left a legacy behind. He developed a 16 lesson Bible study covering different Bible themes and now, in our synagogue, I am teaching them to a group of students on the sabbath.
I would like to put them up on "Talk Jesus" so that everyone can benefit and read, study God's Word. I translated the series into Spanish, and put the study course up on a Hispanic Youth web site, and about 800 youths clicked on and read the lessons.
I would like to do this here, If you would like to receive these lessons, leave me a comment here. Remember that christianity came out of Messianic Judaism, and the roots of christianity are with our Messiah Yeshua (Jesus)

    Sincerely and shalom

    Rabbi Jimmie

Not a lot of response to your thread Jimmie, and your offer to take the time to share with us something of the Jewish outlook upon biblical themes.

We are always mindful that Jesus was a Jew.

Jesus came to the first to the Jewish nation

"I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to Salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek" Romans 1 v 16....Rom 2 v 9....Rom 2 v 10

THe Apostle Paul a former Pharisee and teacher, said that his greatest desire "was that Israel might be saved" Romans 10 v 1..........

Perhaps you could inform us what is meant by the term Messianic Jew, as contrast to other Jewish folks.

Actually...christianity did NOT "come out of Messianic Judaism" ...that is a very misleading statement. Messianic Judaism came out of Christ, as His Jewish followers accepted the 'signs' that He was the promised Messiah.

Act 13:38 Let it be known to you therefore, brothers, that through Jesus Christ forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you, and by him everyone who believes is freed from everything from which you could not be freed by the law of Moses.

Beware, therefore, lest what is said in the Prophets should come about:
"'Look, you scoffers, be astounded and perish; for I am doing a work in your days, a work that you will not believe, even if one tells it to you.'"

As they went out, the people begged that these things might be told them the next Sabbath. And after the meeting of the synagogue broke up, many Jews and devout converts to Judaism followed Paul and Barnabas, who, as they spoke with them, urged them to continue in the grace of God.

As I understand it, Messianic Jews teach - 'the Law, while not essential for Salvation, is still an important part of following God's will and living in His presence.' On the contrary, Messiah`s followers (true to His own message) teach you must be born again, and filled with His Spirit, if you desire to know Him.

Php 3:9 To be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faith-- that I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and may share his sufferings, becoming like him in his death.

1Co 1:22 For Jews demand signs [ceremonially or supernaturally]and Greeks seek wisdom, but we preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and folly to Gentiles, but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.

    Hello Jimmie

I am sorry that your desire to share with us here at 'talkjesus' has not been realised at this time.

But I pray that God Bless Israel.

God Bless you too my friend. The best that I can give to you, the best that I can offer to you, is to express that I want Jesus my Saviour to bless you.

As I see it. Great, mighty, wonderful days are ahead for the Jewish nation. I watch with great interest as daily news unfolds

We are the grafted on bit....and it is wonderful indeed, be it just a graft, just a connection.

Keep visiting 'talkjesus' and post at leisure. We are here to be a blessing to all men worldwide. Particularly to those associated with "The Lord God Almighty"
