Easy Money - Selling anointed oil and other

Active
Here in Africa this is big business. Pay $$$ for anointed oil, water and even other items. Pay $$$ for a pastor to pray a prayer of protection and prosperity for your house, business and car.

Is this acceptable or evil?

In scripture we see the following:

1. Acts 8:9-24. Simon thought the gifts of the Holy Spirit could be purchased and he received a harsh rebuke from Paul.

2. 2 Pet 2:3 In their greed these teachers will exploit you with fabricated stories. Their condemnation has long been hanging over them, and their destruction has not been sleeping.gh covetousness shall they with feigned.

3. Rom 16:18 For such persons do not serve our Lord Christ, but their own appetites, and by smooth talk and flattery they deceive the hearts of the naive.

Clear warnings of false teachers that look to exploit the naive.

On the flip side:

There is truth to anointed oil and water having a positive effect. Even prayer over a house and business. It shows submission to and trust in God. This is very good, God will honor this.

Full time workers in the ministry do require compensation. Workers deserve wages 1 Tim 5:18. But they need to be very careful in how they levy it. Something like tithes, offerings or accepting a donation and 'blessing' is fine. But to stipulate $50 for an item of anointed oil. I don't know. Perhaps it should only be the exact price of the oil and this should be clearly stated?

What are your thoughts?

1. Pretty sure access to God in all forms should be free.
2. All the O.T. things like anointing, oils, etc. were rendered mute when Jesus died on the cross. Moral Law is a permanent thing and is repeated in the New Testament.
3. Churches regardless of a society's status (1st-3rd world) have bills to pay. That's what tithes are for.
Even IF the church staff says it's non-profit and can prove where it's money is kept and spent with transparency selling of items and favors is evil.
4. Money runs the world even if most of this world was Christian which we are not.
Bills can NOT be paid with hugs, kind words, and "feelings" nor livestock and sacks of grain and seed.

People who believe in such trinkets need to be corrected. The Truth does not come from me but from God.

Regarding #2: Acts 19:11–12. 11 And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul: 12 So that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them.
