You must have read it wrong, as no one said we need tattoos to remind us of Jesus, but they do remind some of us at times. The point that was put out there was it can be a good conversation opener and applys to some people not all.

Are you really telling me you never not once have allowed Jesus to slip from your mind for a moment while confronted with everyday tasks and issues ? really brother?

    God Bless

    This really upsets me.
Jesus would rather see you remember him in your heart not from a tattoo.

    God bless you all!

    not at all

We've all sinned and come short sorry for allowing my words to be misintpretated. not my intention bro sorry. I was just simply conveying that I didn't think tattoos were an issue with the Lord more than the winning of souls and the issues of our heart. If you say in your heart that you want a tattoo to glorify God I believe its acceptable. If you say in your heart you wnt a tattoo to be accepted then theres a heart issue is all I was saying . Sorry bro

Yes. Jesus is with me day and night.
Can you honestly say the same?
not being rude but coming to a christian website and talking about jesus doesin't necessarily make you christian.
Ever since I have become chirstian, i have been ONE with the lord.
    I never sin.
The lord is all around me.
You may say, what is he talking about, he thinks he is christian? He doesin't make any sence.
Can you truly say you are a christian?
Don't think you can sin and then ask for forgiveness.
God knows what is in your heart.
This may not go for all of you, but for the majority.

As for the tattoos, I was just saying that people don;t realise anymore what being a christian is all about. Evan thugs or gangster wear crosses all over their bodies and think the lord will forgive them everytime they kill someone.
But again, you can say what you whant about me now, but i think you all know i am right.
You probobly all have somthing negative to say about me now but keep it to yourself please.

    God bless you all!

Hi, first, Shane, dear brother, the things you wrote here don't really make much sense, you're right.

Yes. Jesus is with me day and night.
Can you honestly say the same?

This thread is about tattoos, so let's keep it that way. I am glad you love Jesus, please show the readers of this thread this love of yours.

Can I ask a question Shane?
Do you think your words here glorify the Lord, or you?
Can you use words here to witness to Christ? Is it possible to witness here without words? Surely, from what you are dictating, you don't need to write anything here to spread the word... you see, words are a thing in print, they paint a picture of our thoughts that others might see them and if we use them to bring glory to the Lord, then it is His doing.

Also do you have any scripture in your home besides what is written in your Bible? Like a picture on the wall or something? Have you never read or seen anything that has made you think of Jesus or God, or give Him praise?

    You know, it's a shame.
People need a tottoo now to think about the lord..
It's pretty bad when you need a tattoo to remind you of what jesus did for us.
    This really upsets me.
Jesus would rather see you remember him in your heart not from a tattoo. Shane, I think Jesus would rather see us loving one another with a pure heart... I don't think He is too worried about tattoos or your or my opinion of them.

As for the tattoos, I was just saying that people don;t realise anymore what being a christian is all about. Evan thugs or gangster wear crosses all over their bodies and think the lord will forgive them everytime they kill someone.Do you know this, Shane? And, how many have you corrected and led to the Lord?
But again, you can say what you whant about me now, but i think you all know i am right.
You probobly all have somthing negative to say about me now but keep it to yourself please. Shane.... do unto others as you would have them do unto you, brother.

Shane, you are loved by the Lord, as is everyone who reads this. You have been fearfully and wonderously made, and the Lord is gracious towards you and me and all others who call upon Him. Bless you

Now, please let's stick to the subject.
We can all find reasons to justify or condemn. But whether or not we are into tattoos or not, Jesus is into people, and loves someone not because they have or don't have tattoos. Remember this. We love Him because He first loved us.
By all means save some. I know that we don't need a tattoo to witness to Jesus. I also know that having one can help break the ice. The ice that is so hard and cold because people are left to die while others bicker over useless and vain things.

Now, consider this, a man covered in tattoos who visits the sick, visits those in prison, feeds the hungry and clothes the naked, AND a person without even a little tattoo (or ear ring) who claims to have done all sorts in Jesus name.To who is Jesus going to say, "Well done!"?

What if the woman who saves a child from drowning in the churning seas has tattoos all over her back and arms? Would we thank her at least?

I do not recommend anyone get a tattoo, and as far as whether or not I have one, that is God's business, if He cares to tell you, BUT, for all those who mock and judge people with tattoos, it is not your place to judge. IT is the Lord's place, and we ought not steal from Him...eh?

Scripturally, our bodies are made up of dust, will perish and by grace alone will be renewed. Except for a few, all bodies thus far, have, if they lived long enough, grown weak and wrinkled, and died/expired. Tattoos or not.
I thank the Almighty God of Jesus Christ the Lord that He does not fuss over bodies, but is the LOVER of my soul...and yours.

    Bless you ...><>

Your response is completely bogus and full of pride.

    I never sin.
    1 John 1:8-9

8If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
9If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Don't think you can sin and then ask for forgiveness.
Your off track, not speaking truth again. Do you even READ your bible.

    Acts 13:38-39

38Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins:
39And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.

Shane, you are full of pride and arrogance. Shame on you. You are not welcomed to post in this thread again. If you do, consider your account closed.

I find your post full of pride and discept dear brother. You never sin??? Really? I find this answer laughable and down right silly. If you could stop yourself from sinning then you would have no need of Christ. Have you even read the bible yet? I find it best to know what you speak of BEFORE you post.

2 weeks of vacation and traveling and no internet connection. it's been a while. thank Jesus i'm here again.

indeed! the issue of pride. you may not have a tattoo and you think you're better, then you've just allowed the devil to have a foothold of you... but you're full of pride and their goes the heart issues now exposed.

i've read that having a tatto doesn't get you any closer to the Lord. true indeed. but not having a tatto doesn't get you any closer or make you holier either. for what matters most is what is in your heart. i've seen some Christians who are heavily tattooed and they looked so rugged yet i admire their passion in advancing the gospel and sharing the love of Christ. they go to the street corners and boldly speak Jesus to the gangsters and youths and win hearts and souls for Christ. what a pity to those who judge their own brothers and become self-righteous and yet they just sit in the church and warm the seats and didn't even bother to snatch souls. being busy of nothing but criticism.

indeed we are saved to serve... and therefore we become ambassadors of Christ, and we must represent Him properly.

when we pick verses from the bible, lets not be bias by quoting some to meet and justify our opinions (that's taking the verse out of context and worse, putting God in a box).

THE LAW; it is for those who are perishing, for if you are under the law then you are under the power of sin and we know that those who are under sin has no life in them. but we who are saved by Grace through faith are not under the law, because Christ (Eph 2:14-15) "For He Himself is our peace... by abolishing in His flesh the law with its commandments and regulations." Freedom in Christ indeed, righteousness not from the law but by grace.

tattoo - if you can't handle it because you don't like it, keep it that way and it's good for you, but nonetheless should you say it's wrong for Christians to have one. if you're a Christian and you like tattoos and you want to have one, check your heart! seek Jesus! let His peace abide in you! make sure it will not be a stumbling block to anybody and make sure it's not a spur of the moment desire.

most of all, let LOVE rule above everything you'll do.

    Speak Christ, speak Love.

i think we are so concerned about things of which wont even get us closer to God. i really think that a new creation is what matters to God. God looks on the inside. and for the Scripture in Leviticus, one needs to understand what the author was reffering to, tattooing was different in those days. "If we were to obey the laws of the Old Testament we would also be bound by rules that would restrict shellfish and pork eating, hairstyles, wearing of clothes made from two different fabrics". we should be models on Christ, not Pharises!

    tattoo

I have given this tattoo discussion a lot of thought because I have two myself. I had my tattoos done prior to becoming saved. Now in today's society, tattoos are common along with all sorts of other evils. Trying to reach a lost child these days is absolutely the hardest thing to do. That child might happen to like tattoos or they may think you are different because you are a Christian with one. For example: Look at the new age Christian rock music. There is some debate whether some of it glorifies God or not. Some of it sounds like headbanging heavy metal. But...............The kids love it. Sometimes it takes different angles to reach the lost of today's society. Having a tattoo of Jesus may interest a child enough to where they start asking questions about Him. Could be a good witnessing tool. I don't think I will ever get anymore tattoos but you can bet if I do, they will be of a type that atleast tries to glorify God. God Bless
