Chad, I met my husband at a christian site called bigchurch. We talked many times before we ever met, even though we were only about 40 miles from each other. I wanted to be sure he really loved the Lord, and he does!

chad, I am fairly new to talk Jesus, but I would say if this new site would be anything like this, I'd jump on. I've been interested in just talking with a perspective match, but concerned about other services. I'd been interested in one that made me feel safe. Cost? well I checked out eharmony, but honestly couldn't affort $50/month. Besides, I guess what I'd really like is a pen pal with possibilities. TalkJesus, has been a real blessing to me. I am not sure if I am misreading the intent here, but folks in a loveless marriage shouldn't be on a dating site, but instead praying for a "miracle of heart" in their own marriage.

I do think it is important to have fellowship with other christians that can understand and share similar circumstances such as seeking a life partner, single parenting, rebuilding a life when your spouse leaves, etc...

A singles site will be as holy or sinful an experience as each user makes it. It could be a great blessing to many who are willing to build friendships and pursue any further relationship only after seriously seeking God.

If I were using a christian singles site I would consider $15 a month or $35 for 3 month reasonable. As it is, I am praying for my husband's salvation, his return, and the restoration of our marriage.

I am actually looking for a dating service. I don't really like the single gig, and was looking on TalkJesus because I saw the forum on the homepage. I don't think that a christian dating service should have to cost anything. I understand the fees of the webspace, and the domain names, and all the rest, but I'm just fifteen; I can't afford much. I've got a 500 dollar payment I'm working on now with a hand held pocket computer from Dell.com. I have a public library fee of 25 bucks. I have a lot of things that I need to pay off, and I'm believing God for the money to do it, because I know He doesn't want me to be in debt. But I just wouldn't participate in a dating service if I had to pay for it.
This is just my personal opinion, though, and I am taking into consideration the fact that I may not be fully informed right now. I'd like to be a part of something like this, but I'm just not in a position right now if it's going to be a service you have to pay for.

Thank you all for the feedback. I feel the desire in my heart to start this project rather soon. Probably by mid-summer. Its not a tiny project after all. The software I have in mind is clean, fast, stable, simple.
