Our Purpose: to show you the love of Jesus Christ, His promises of
Salvation & Blessings and to spread the Good News to the ends of the
Earth [Mark 16:15]. We're also here to edify the church
[Ephesians 4:11-12].
has it ever happen to you that you fall in love with a friend? or atleast think you want more than friendship relationship with him/her?... would you chose to remain a friend or take a risk, knowing it could affect your friend-relationship there after?
this is one of the usual problems we have at youth, well, its quite hard because u are brethrens, and admit it or not, if it didn't work it will affect whtever u had before as close brethrens..
"...but the LORD looks at the heart." - 1 Samuel 16:7
Well just because it didnt work for me, doesnt me it can't work for anyone.
Just this month, there was two marriages out of my Home Church Youth Group.
It's okay to like a friend it's normal, but God must have full control of your emotions. The qualities we enjoy in our friends are a reflection of what we want for a soulmate.
My youth group had a solid biblestudy,we took church seriously and was under a very strict leadership. Dating and Sex was always a topic, which helped with our decision making. Those that hooked up when I was 13 are still together. I'm now 22, 2 couples got married and others on the waiting list. Singlehood was promoted first, having that relationship with God, letting him be the only lover of your soul. Dealing with the issues of everyone has a mate, I should get one too ( being led by emotions).
When I got saved at 13, I'd have to say I had 2 crushes over the years that were close friends. Now I'm 22, I realise it was more admiration than Love. lol.
If it's God's will, then there should be no fear of a break up or losing that friendship.
If you're trying to develop a relationship out of God's will, it would be messy and that would be because of your disobedience. I've paid my debt trust me.
Truth is stranger than Fiction-unknown
Test all things -1Thess5:21
I know from experience if you follow you natural human desire it could get really, really messy and quite traumatic.
If you follow the love of God or rather are directed by the love of God then you have God's agenda, love thinks and acts, in a godly manner see I Corinthians 13:3-8. You both need to moving in this love that way your relationship will honour God and it won't do or go anywhere it shouldn't.
I have never experienced that before. But, that bring sup the old question: can a guy and a girl ever just be friends? I pray, that God will direct your path, and let his love shine down

Yea they can be just friends but it is not going to be a deep friendship. It's just going to be a surface thing. And it will only work if both persons concerned have other interests, like a wife/husband, children and they are happy with those things. That way there's know romantic, sexual interest and you can have a nice little friendly chat. And that is as far as it goes, if it does go further than that the parties involved need to quit sinning and exercise the fruit of the Spirit, self-control and beak the whole thing off.
When it come to single people if there's no romantic sexual interest you could possible be friendly, but it's not going to be a deep friendship.
If you have a deep friendship with someone of the opposite sex you should marry them.
