I am a gay teenager and I want to know why the bible says gays should go to hell.

could someone please explain this to me?

The Bible doesn't say that homosexuals should go to Hell,
but it says that they will if they continue to practice it without repenting.

Let me show you some verses.

Leviticus 18:22 (NIV)

"'Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestable.

So we read here that if a man lies with another man as a man lies
with a woman, it is detestable; an abomination to the LORD.

Romans 1:24-28
Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another.
They exchanged the truth of God for a lie,
and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator--who is forever praised. Amen.

Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts.
Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones.

In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another.
Men committed indecent acts with other men ,
and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.

Furthermore, since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God,
he gave them over to a depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done.

(1 Corinthians 6:9-10)

Don't you know that wicked people won't inherit the kingdom of God? Stop deceiving yourselves!
People who continue to commit sexual sins, who worship false gods,
those who commit adultery, homosexuals, or thieves,
those who are greedy or drunk, who use abusive language,
or who rob people will not inherit the kingdom of God.


So we see that we are not to be involved with this type of act.
If anyone is, they are to repent of this sin and turn to Christ.

God made man in His own image.
God creates.
Man procreates.
Homosexuality is sterile and cannot produce life.
It is (like all sin) a form of rebellion against God's will and such things will not stand the judgment of a Holy God.
He has however provided a way for you:

Jesus died to set you free from the bondages of sin and corruption. It is not His will that any should perish but that all would come with a repentant heart to Him. For one to "go to hell" that one must choose to ignore this great sacrifice Love has made.
One might say "I was born that way" but I am hear to tell you that you can be born again into a new life with a new heritage and a new inheritance.
There is new life in Christ and freedom from sin to all who would come.
Will you heed the call and be set free?

That was a great explanation, Boanerges. I knew it was wrong, but the only reason I could say why was because "God said so".

Shepard, you don't have to be gay. I have a friend who used to be gay but he got saved and now he isn't gay anymore. I will pray for you too.

Sexual intercourse between a man and a woman is for procreation and for them to bond together in a marriage setting. Same sex relationships cannot procreate. They cannot fulfill the important role of bringing new human life into the world, which is equally important to the bonding function. In addition, ancient pagan cultures encouraged homosexuality as a form of idol worship using shrine prostitutes to represent the god/goddess.

As to homosexuals being to sent to hell by God; the Bible's teachings on sin are clear. Our consciences tell us when we are sinning plus Scripture delineates what behaviors are sinful. So, if a person has grown past the age of reason and knowingly disobeys his God given conscience and/or Scripturall teaching and he dies in that condition, he has condemned himeelf
