That what I heard but a bit of it did start in 1817 somewhere in Germany, I think it was in Germany but anyways somewhere around there. Um, yea that was my main point, in that time it was like another new day of Pentecost but you know why that it did not happen in the early churches is that the man traditions did not leave any more room for the Holy Spirit to come in. That why some of these church like the Catholic church are in lack of knowledge not much meat from the bible, is like the word of God been a twisted and confuse since the bible says that God is not a God of Confusion, but I could tell you that it is of Satan and he will come around looking like he is nice person but he is lying but the way I look at Satan is like a 2 face person into the Catholic church in a bit away.

Jesus is the author of our faith and Satan is the author of our confusion, because if we deal with confusion then we are dealing with devils in our life because this is why we got to be careful and be on guard and test that spirit! That’s why we Christian soldier going to have to stomp the devil head why’ll on the other hand you heard in history that the catholic was like soldiers but been using that term in a wrong way when they say they soldier for Christ, but that is not Soldier for Christ by physically killing people, but is a post to be a spiritual thing because we fight with our flesh and demonize things, we go out preach the gospel and cast out demon for the enemy is there to kill steal and destroy!! Correct me if I’m right on this y’all…

    Re: Catholicism

    Mary Emily,

I'm 70 years old and I was raised in the Catholic Church. When I was in my late forties (I don't recall the exact year), I believe that God called me out of the Catholic Church into a spirit-filled protestant church where the Holy Spirit was truly welcome and I would be free to grow in the knowledge of Scripture by the use of study Bibles, good teaching tapes, and religious TV & radio programming.

In the Catholic Church of my experience, we were never encouraged to study Scripture on our own in this way. No Catholics that I know of owned Bibles in our town. When I left Catholicism, I knew several priests personally, but only two of them ever preached out of the Bible. These were the only two of the whole bunch who knew the Scriptures.

The last straw began to break not long after I had been asked to be a lector in the parish I was attending. In that role, as you probably know, I was to do the Scripture readings at Mass. Doing those readings was the beginning of my love affair with God's Word.

One Sunday, as I was in the sacristy reading through the readings for that day, I spotted what seemed to be a printed newsletter on a nearby table. When I picked it up and began to read, I saw that it was from the bishop's office and was addressed to the pastor. It was a printed guidline of what the priests were to preach on for that week and what points they were to be certain to stress.

The Holy Spirit was not free to move in that parish as he might want to. Everything was controlled from the top down. Sermon topics and guidlines came down from Rome through the local bishop. The hierarchy was pretty much in control everywhere. And Catholic Church leaders had the cheek to wonder out loud why they were losing members.

I've read that the winds of change are blowing through the Catholic Church at long last. I pray that the Catholic Church's entrenched hierarchial bureaucracts (a.k.a. Pharisees) are unable to quench the Holy Spirit fire this time, as they've done in the past.

For all who believe its ok to "honor Mary" and "hail Mary"

    Luke 1:46-47

46And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord,
47And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour.

Mary calls Jesus her GOD, her Savior.

I agree with you Chad, but you're still in for a good arguement. I'm getting nowhere convincing this person. My hands are in the air.

OK, so people don't worship her.... so they don't do anything wrong? How can you prove the scriptures tell you not to talk to Mary or any of the other dead? Because the Bible has warnings about contacting the dead. Now since most catholics beleive everyone goes directly to Heaven, purgatory or hell directly after death you have another arguement after that.

Luke 1:28 says that the angel came unto Mary and said "hail thou that art highly favoured." It came from the bible.

Since it's not only catholics I wonder if we should have a separate thread?

ED that is a wonderful testimony. Bless you dear brother!

And mary was a wonderful person. But no different than any other.

She died in the flesh like all of us and is no longer mary.
She has a new name like we all in the LORD!

Rev 2:17 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.

The only way to GOD is though the SON.

Joh 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Col 3:17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
. Eph 4:24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

Catholics like all other 'branches' of the Christian faith, surely have members of their flocks who are 'believers' and some who go from tradition, habit or whatever. The same could be said of for instance the Church of England, Methodist tradition, or indeed any. Ignorance is not bliss, we should encourage all people who profess Christianity, to look at Christ, the head of the church. As God leads, we can speak to people in love and then leave the rest with Him.
The most difficult thing to do then is to keep loving that person (those people) and accepting them, although they have made their personal choice not to believe as we do.

I couldn't agree with you more, Jean. I'm a former Catholic myself and I love my brothers and sisters who profess Catholicism and I pray for a powerful move of God's Spirit in the Catholic Church so that they all may have a personal relationship with Jesus.

    Catholicism

I left the catholic church many years ago. I floated from church to church searching for my "home church" I finally found a non-denominational church locally that I love. It is very bible-based. I was even baptized this past August. I feel "special" to have found Jesus and to have accepted Him as my Lord and Saviour. Now, the huge delima. How do I get the rest of my "Catholic" family to see the light? Right now, they all pretty much think I am wacked....I want them to be saved with me.

As you grow in the LORD and TRUTh? You light will shine and others will see . Then they to will want to know the LORD JESUS CHRIST as LORD and GOD as FATHER and FRIEND!

They cannot come, unless drawn by the HOLY GHOST!

Your right JEAN, We cannot tell always who is born of GOd, because we all start off babies in our spirit and will appear carnal for a time!

1Pe 2:2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:

And some never grow up in the LORD!

Heb 5:12 For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.

They does not make them less in HIS BODY. Just kind of useless to HIM?
. Eph 4:24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
