The best bacon cheeseburger ever... - 02-14-12, 06:32 PM

My wife just made me the best bacon cheeseburger I've ever had for valentines day. She used 85% Angus ground hamburger, and topped it with a slice of american cheese and Applegate Farms bacon.

It was spectacular!

She made sure not to squish the patty while forming the burger. If you make your burgers fluffy, they will hold in all the juices. Also, she made sure not to squish it down in the pan when cooking. That squeezes out all the juices, too.

The key to a good hamburger is good quality beef hamburg, a fluffy patty, and don't squish the patty while it's cooking.

That sounds amazing lol.

Did you have anything else on it?

I like all my burgers, of all types, with just cheese. So my bacon cheeseburgers are just cheese, burger, and bacon. I guess I am a little boring. :(

I dressed it simple: Ketchup on the top side, mustard and mayonaisse on the bottom.

Hello. - 02-19-12, 12:16 AM

Sounds tasty.

Was there any tomato or betroot, etc?

The light shone in the darkness.

No, I find such trappings a hindrance to the simple flavors therein.

Don't get me wrong, if I get a regular bacon cheeseburger those things may add to the experience. This bacon cheeseburger, however, needed no such dressing. It was that good.

Awesome!
You didn't grill it?

So when are we invited over?

Actually, she just made them again tonight. They weren't quite as good because she used regular hamburger, so I would strongly suggest you use the Angus ground beef for best results.

A little side note to cooking a fine burger, make sure you put a cover over them while they cook, this also keep the juices going back into the meat! I love bacon!! LOl I could have bacon on anything!!including potatoes! LOL AND!!!! If you have never put this on your hamburger, then you have never lived!! LOL Sweet Baby Rays Barbecue sauce!! Now you have the best Burger!! LOL

If this is true, then I'll have to get clearance from my wife and post a receipt that is AWESOME! sweet potatoe, apple, bacon! receipt that has moved to the top of my list for her to cook for me

I've never been a fan of sweet potatoes, but when she cooked this I had to reconsider my position on them. Then it could just have been the bacon.
