Father Burns Daughter - 08-19-08, 11:23 AM

*** Voice Of The Martyrs 19/8/08 ***

SAUDI ARABIA:
Father Burns Christian Daughter to Death

A Saudi man cut the tongue of his daughter and burned her to death for converting to Christianity, according to a report by the United Arab Emirates based Gulf News.

The victim frequently wrote on various website blogs about her conversion from Islam. It is believed that she turned to Christianity after being exposed to its teachings on the internet and through Christian media.

Writing under the nickname of "Rania" just a couple of days before her murder, the girl wrote that her family members grew suspicious after she had a religious discussion with them and her brother found some of her Christian articles and a cross sign on her computer screen. Her father is a member of the Commission for Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice, a powerful police unit commissioned to ensure the good moral behaviour of the citizens of Saudi Arabia.

"Many viewers in Saudi Arabia watch our Christian TV programs," said Arab Vision's international director. "We know this because a number of them contact us, and like 'Rania' want to know more about how they can follow Jesus Christ. It is very humbling to see how much they are willing to risk and sacrifice for the Lord."

The Gulf News report explains that "Saudi religious scholars have frequently warned against the dangers of Christian internet websites and satellite TV channels which attract Muslim youngsters to change their religion. They decreed that watching these channels or browsing these websites which call for conversion to Christianity by various means is against the teachings of Islam."

Sources close to the victim have said that the father is being investigated for "honour killing" rather than "murder", because it is deemed that he had to "wash the shame of dishonour" on his family brought about by the unbecoming behaviour of the daughter.

Please, my brothers and sisters...
* Pray that this young girl's death will not be in vain, that even now her story is inspiring others to investigate Jesus.

* Pray the Lord will protect his children in Saudi Arabia.

* Pray the stronghold of Islam will be broken.

May you know the blessing of the Lord upon your life as you pray for your sisters and brothers and their families and loved ones, around the world who suffer so much for Christ Jesus the Lord.

Bless you ....><>

Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness,

which the Lord,
the righteous judge,

shall give me at that day:
and not to me only,
but unto all them also that love his appearing.

2Timothy 4:8

Very sad and still encouraging that God is touching people’s heart in many ways. I pray TJ will be one of them.

Sadly, most professing Christians in the western hemisphere are clueless about the value and importance of a relationship with Jesus Christ. They have no idea what it means to be committed to Him. How deceived we are!

We need to connect with missionary organizations like Voice Of the Martyrs to see how Christian converts in the Third World suffer for the faith. Discipleship is much more than attending church services and sitting on church committees, though those things are important. The young lady in Br.Bear's post who suffered martyrdom was a disciple in the biblical sense of discipleship. The flames only consumed her body; her spirit was "consumed" by her love for the Lord.

I want to be a coin in God's pocket that He can spend any way He wishes.

amen! ~That was beautiful!

Job 19:25 For I know that my Redeemer lives, and at the last he will stand upon the earth. And after my skin has been thus destroyed, yet in my flesh I shall see God, whom I shall see for myself, and my eyes shall behold, and not another. My heart faints within me!

One passion One devotion. Know God...make Him known.

Yes indeed ,we are very decieved in our easy comfortable Christian western society.

Lord Jesus may You fill our hearts with increased love, prayers and compassion for those who are tortured and abused for You. And may You guide us in providing effective service and support these dear suffering Christians

This martyred lady can truly proclaim:

I have finished my course , I have kept the faith (2 Tim 4:7)

I will be praying.

Julia

These are they which came out of great tribulation
Therefore are they before the throne of God (Rev 7:14,15)

....they shall see His face (Rev 22:4)

Blessed are the dead, which die in the Lord (Rev 14:13)

He is altogether lovely...my beloved and my friend

Father I stand in agreement with all prayers going up to your throne room of grace and pray that the seed which is planted through this young ladies death will bear much much fruit, I pray that her father and whole family will be so convicted and that they come into a full blown relationship with you in Jesus name, amen

Glory be to the most high now and forever, blessed be the name of the Lord.

Psalm 18:32 For it is God who arms me with strength and makes my way perfect
