I am praying for you now, sister. God is able to ease or even remove your pain, but you must have something in Him that is too often not to be found in men: trust. Trust God. Learn to depend on Him alone. He may show you others in whom you may confide, but always lean first on the good Lord. He alone is always worthy of our trust.

May I suggest you visit a rescue mission, serve some meals. Visit a Children's cancer ward at a children's hospital. How about writing a VA MEDICAL CENTER and telling a wounded Vet about how much you appreciate what they have done for our country. Write or call your pastor and give him some encouragement. Call a Nursing Home and ask if there is someone who would like a kind word to hear. If you have a car, join and deliver Meals on Wheels. Make a prayer lit, one for each day , and pray over that list everyday. Call a food bank and ask I you can do anything to help. Read a chapter in the Bible every day.

Put a bowel out side with sunflower seeds in it watch the many different birds come and eat the seeds. Plant a few flowers n a pot inside your room watch the flowers bloom and grow. Christmas-Catus is so pretty. I you can have a pet a cat can just about take care of it's self. A small dog can be great company! Get a paint by number kit and paint it and give it away. Buy plant you can grow and divide and replant it, until you have enough to give away a Christmas time. Call the Post Office from where your mail comes from, tell them what a good job your mailperson does.

Ask your Pastor if you can email Missionaries' to encourage them.Join a prayer chain at your church.

I am 100% sure if you do just a few of these suggestions, you will see an improvement in your life. No matter how you feel, be faithful in this for jut 32 days and you won't believe the change you will feel and how much happiness you will experience.

Will you give a promise to God to try?

Hi! I am an old/new member here haven't posted ion 5yrs oops !:) I struggle with two different forms of depression caused by a severe thyroid condition.
I have tried going off my medications only to wind up in a pit of deep despair.

I am a born again Christian who believes God created medicine and doctors to help us heal or cope . I also agree you should do the things farout suggested ..reading my bible and volenteering ,or finding a hobbie help. I know because I try to do those things .

I am once again on medications and suffer some side effects from time to time but I am Spiritually and mentally the healthiest and strongest I have been in a long time despite or inspite of the ocasional winter blues.

My advice is too pray take the meications if they are helping.....you don't want to get to where you are suicidal believe me I know the pain, heart ache that suicide brings I have had 2 relatives and 2 friiends commit suicide from 1986-2002 two because they went off medications prescribed them

I said all that because I have been there.......Hold on to Jesus and pray I will be praying for you.

Thank you so much everyone for your prayers' and advice! My depression/devastation/heartbreak completely disappeared within 2 days of posting here... a total miracle - if you had seen me grieving since July. The tears I have cried have been floods, I stopped doing everything, paralyzed, stopped going to any art classes due to crying, my world ended, not even shopping, driving, nothing. Basicallly my joyful dreams over the last 2 years of marriage and children were crushed when the bomb was dropped earlier this month that he is instead going to give all those dreams to his ex instead, (even though we like each other... he had been withdrawing emotionally, even though its long distance I could tell, but my depressive tendencies probably didn't help with my communication style)... my world ended lol, well, never mind, haha! I've always held out hope for marriage and children, and yes I sunk to such low depths when I was so sad just last week that I wanted the Lord to 'take me', I wouldn't do such a thing myself..I know, awful I'm sorry everyone lol. I shall only hope in the Lord now. No I'm still not smiling, but hopefully God will give me another type of joy, but at least the tears have finally stopped falling. Anyway let me tell you this: this Christmas with my parents' has been so much fun !!!.... you see, they made a new friend this year, who is in my age group, and is blind from birth.. and is unwanted basically by her parents' in another country, so we have had her stay over at our house for Christmas dinner and a few nights. I tell you, she has such a bubbly personality, always positive, and I enjoyed talking to her, she's like a friend for me, and I enjoyed guiding her around our house and helping her out. She just loved having Christmas with someone who is thinking of her, because sadly she has had Christmas on her own for the last 5 years!!! It has taken my mind of perhaps 90% of my own loneliness and empty feeling!...My tears have ended inspite of my disappointments. I've enjoyed Christmas, so thank you for your prayers', they came in time... and Thank you Lord, the Healer.

When one is greatly depressed, no words easily comfort the soul. It takes one of two things, a physical touch of love, or a powerful presence of the Lord, and the Lord sometimes is unable to do so out of the rule of love which He always follows for He is the trustworthy True love, unlike human love. I am glad that you got at least enough of one to comfort you sister.
