Someone confesses an abortion to you

Say you are talking to a woman and she tells you that she has had an abortion. This can be any scenario. She could be young. She could be old. She could be grieving. She could be matter-of-fact.

What would you do? Quote scripture to justify YOUR actions towards the woman. Not scripture to support your view on abortion.

The rest would depend on the circumstance.

There is no sin to great to forgive, except continued unbelief.

We need to love, and forgive, as Jesus has loved and forgiven us.
That is the whole heart of the matter.

This happened to me a few years back. The lady was most distressed.

For any lady to undergo an abortion tells of great inner pain and sorrow.

No man/woman can pass judgement on the decision that is made in this regard. Indeed not.....
Jesus said "I am the WAY the TRUTH and the LIFE"......Without the WAY there is no GOING, without the TRUTH there is no KNOWING without the LIFE there is no LIVING....

I've been in this situation and worse several times. We should remember the grace that has been shown to us.

Rom 9:11 (For the children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth;)

My ex wife aborted two of our sons! once before i married her once after!
    It was very great pain!

Still after divorcing her , I see those kids were better off! Hate to say it! But she was such a evil girl and hated all her children!

Better be Very sure before you marry a evil person, that are GODS CHILDREN!

of course I was not Born -Again when I married her! Nor was she of course!
. Eph 4:24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

No, I'm not in that situation, on either side of the scene, nor have i ever been, either considering abortion or faced with someone who is.

I asked that question because I was frustertated with reading peoples' endless compassionless commentaries on the rights and wrongs of such situations. They seemed to be harshly judgmental (which is not the same thing as having discerning judgment), and I was hoping the question would steer people to consider more compassionate responses, since we are all Christians, and we are called to forgive, show mercy and grace, to support one another, and to love.

Yes, we are called to choose wisely and responsibly, and not involve ourselves in fornication or of the terminating of life, but when we consider how we would be towards another person, it is not so easy as just understanding the black and white right and wrongs. Ultimately it comes down to our own behavior towards others, and thinking is a behavior, so I was hoping that some people would start considering how they thought about the matter, and try to include their heart and their Christian values when thinking about such a topic as this where it is very easy to be black and white, and unforgiving.

I've been in that situation too. Married to an evil woman. I still love her too. There is nothing I can do forher though. She loves to speak blasphemy.:( I married her when I was a Buddhist:(There is a lot more I could say.But still the Lord wanted me to forgive her and in that I found a lot of peace.

The letter of the Law Kills, The spirit gives life. I have counciled several women in this situation.Rather than judge I thought it better to remember the grace that was shown to me. I used to be a tibetian buddist for 14 yrs. And I concider that to be a lot worse.Yet the Lord loved me and healed me.
