I have a question for you..........

    Dear friends,

I have a question for you.

Is Orkut Ok for Christians or not?

I personally feel that it is not Ok. When I joined in Orkut, I felt really uneasy and I deleted my Orkut account. Some of my Christian friends agreed with me and said that it is not the place for a Christian to stay, while some of my Christian friends said on the contrary that it is Ok for a Christian to stay in Orkut.

I would like to hear from all of you, my co-believers and tell your opinion about Orkut.

    God bless you.
God is Good all the time.

    Oh, Sorry Can't Relate

Because I have no idea what is Orkut all about. Would you mind to describe?

But seriously, you can personally tell anyway through asking God's wisdom in fervent prayer. Ask His Holy Spirit to guide you. Surely, the gift of discernment would be with you.

Does it answer the following questions: is it biblical, is it Christ-centered? would it save your soul from destruction? Does it help you grow spiritually? Does it help you edify the church? Would it guide you to preserve your Christian character?

I think, that's all I can say... Anybody who can support my post with biblical points is much appreciated.

I'm sleepy now... can't discuss further...

    God bless us all!

    Dear Y5EE252_RICHIE
I think that christians can use orkut. It is bad in some ways but it totally depends on the things we see and the people whom we talk to.There are also a lot of christian communities. It depends only on the way we see things. We can take in the good things and avoid the bad things.

I've never used Orkut but I can say two things:

    1. Would Jesus do it / be here (whatever the situation or environment is)?
    2. Can I possibly reach out to someone with the gospels of Christ?

I used to promote this forum on Yahoo chat rooms 4 years ago when I began this site. Your likely not going to find a more blasphemous online chat room than Yahoo Christian chat, yes *Christian* chat rooms. That's where the devil sent his little followers to harass others. Well, I stayed there promoting this site and did not care for the nasty lashbacks. I did it to reach out to the lost by bring them here where they can safely and Scripturally soundly learn about Christ.

I think it's alright to join sites like that as long as you're careful about it. It's a great opportunity to witness to the lost.

    Mark 2:16-17
16 "And when the scribes and Pharisees saw him eat with publicans and sinners, they said unto his disciples, How is it that he eateth and drinketh with publicans and sinners?
17 When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance." KJV

Sometimes we have to get out of our Christian circle to lead people to the Lord, just make sure you have the full armour of God when you do so.

    Ephesians 6:11
"Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil." KJV

    God Bless

I was already sleepy last night that couldn't concentrate to search for that website. But I also guessed that Orkut could be similar to any secular ones like friendster, yahoo, etc.

Now, I can join the poll ... hehehe

You need to remember that although a place may be secular (bar, club, a certain online website like Orkut), it does not automatically mean that the Holy Spirit may not send you to this certain place to reach out to someone, or some group of people. Of course, I mean this to a certain degree. I know GOD will not send you to a sleazy club (adult) for example. However, the lost are in the secular places, therefore the only way to reach out to those lost people is by visiting those places. Remember, GOD may work in mysterious ways.

    Deuteronomy 29:29

"The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but the things that are revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law.

Remember also that Jesus ate with sinners

    Luke 15:1-2

1Now the tax collectors and sinners were all drawing near to hear him. 2And the Pharisees and the scribes grumbled, saying, "This man receives sinners and eats with them."
