THE MAP BOOK

Once there was a man
Who had a map book in his hand
Because of pride and arrogance
He would not even take a glance

His life took him down many a road
Through lands of warmth and some of cold
Wrong turns here and lost while there
He tried so hard but could not fare

Then one day a good friend said
"Why don't you try the book instead?"
He sheepishly opened it and stared
Oh my God, He really cared

Jesus now is his guide and friend
A true love and friendship without end
Though he still climbs a hill or valley
He won't get caught in a back alley

The man led his family by the book
They lived like a tree next to the brook
Healthy and fruitful and full of life
What a change from all that strife

When he passed on and was dead
What a great man they all said
He's now in heaven without a doubt
Please join the team and don't miss out

GOD'S SPECIAL SHOW

Sunset tonight was wonderful
All the colors, starting with blue
The clouds were white, pale and orange
Making the ocean appear so foriegn

They faded pink as the sun hit the sea
God's special show for you and for me
The sky went magenta then dark and black
Revealing the stars hiding in back

Out came the moon now for it's turn
There are sparkles all over instead of the burn
Help me remember to give You the raves
Either swimming or floating or surfing Your waves

You show You exist in so many ways
I'll glorify You all of my days
Thank You for life and the beauty of earth
Help me to know what in Your eyes I'm worth

JUST TRUSTING IN GOD IS THE CURE

People fight against growth and change
But holding selves down is so strange
Must take our thoughts and rearrange
Saddle that horse and ride the range

Men act so proud and stay the same
Hiding behind fear and our shame
While finding someone else to blame
Violence or boredom is our fame

Then women on the other hand
Just want to control all the land
Seeking security that's bland
Forgetting about what God planned

The truth is life's an adventure
Not easy and sometimes unsure
While satan's follies due allure
Just trusting in God is the cure

WE ALL SEEM RATHER SMALL

We all seem rather small
in the scheme of things
Obviously going nowhere
just back and forth on swings

I believe that conformism
makes for lost and empty lives
Using untruthful happy faces
to hide the misery in our eyes

One key could be contentment
another may be striving
For anyone to feel of purpose
we join a Church that's thriving

THE DEVIL THOUGHT...

The devil thought he had You beat
When he saw You walk that street
It's You that hung upon a cross
While we're the ones truly dross

Knowing You did that to save us
We all love You Lord Jesus
Please help me teaching those not yet
That on Your life they can bet

I'll remember when I doubted
So to care for the outed
Drinker, pusher or prostitute
That You are our substitute

Take my faith now over the edge
Trusting in Your leverage
Making sure all glory is Yours
Showing me the open doors

Keep me praying and close to You
It's then I'll know what to do
You're The Way, The Truth, and The Life
And have conquered all the strife

...IN A GODLY FASHION

Making love in a Godly fashion
Living with whole-hearted passion
Treating your mate much better than self
To have the softness of an elf

This is an obtainable target
Just can't buy it at the market
Continue to woo after marriage
Share time pushing baby's carriage

There's so many things that stress us out
Still find happiness do not pout
Always set aside some time to date
In happy couple's it's a trait

When you spend an evening fine dining
Hardly any talk of whining
Then you can maybe go to a dance
Or if you can then go to France

Jesus gave the art of lovemaking
True it's not always earthshaking
We need to work at the fact it's fun
Then we'll be joined from two to one
