Just some thoughts:
We are created in God's image. God is tripartite: Father, Son and Holy Spirit Man is tripartite: spirit, soul and body. God creates, His children procreate. We in Christ have many of His attributes and His very nature dwells in us. Where God is moving their is life so it is a quite natural thing to want to bring new life into the world. Either way it is a personal choice though. |

For as long as I can remember, I have wanted children. I have been married five years since July 2009 and still no children.
To me, American society is kind of saying...'Only 2.5 children is normal and more than that is not normal', etc. If I am not wrong, in the Bible it was different. Women who had no children were kind of shunned (not that it was right). Children were more valuable than any possession. I would love to live back then. Is there a reason why you don't want children now? In the Bible, it talks of children being blessings. I believe the decision is God's. If He wants you to have children, you will (no matter what you do to stop it!). If He doesn't, you won't. I am still praying though. When I think about the Lord... |

There are a lot of women out there having abortions, which I know is wrong, but I have known a few of them; and although I believe it is wrong, according to many of their lifestyles, these children have been saved from a lifetime of neglect and abuse.
There are still others who have lost their children to foster care and give up parental rights for that very reason, children who did not deserve to be in the middle of drugs and alcohol, perhaps you could adopt at some point and give a child hope in Christ, if you and your husband are in agreement in the Kingdom of the Lord. |

i am a single male however.... lol and as previously mentioned, i am starting to thing these feelings are coming from being overwhelmed with the decision to accept christ into my life... I came from a background where i never went to church as a child and into my early 20's. i do remember my baby sitter taking me to a calothic church but they did not have a sunday school or anything so i was very bored and i hated going (i was like 3 years old). i guess at this point time will tell thanks for your replies everyone |

Consideration to circumstances must be given to the decision to have, or not to have children, lest we be found tempting God, who never meant for us to be wreckless and irresponsible with our choices.

Prescription for your Doubt -
11-27-09, 01:34 PM
1. Find God
2. Ask God's will for you 3. If it is God's desire that we're made to have children and procreate and build generations then thats how it will be. 4. God made you - don't defy it - your life is like a speck of dust in his eyes but you're so precious to God. Wouldn't it be easier to go with God's plan - which would be for you to have a family with children. 5. We're all God's children. 6. Shortcut: If you pay heed to the Spirit of God that is our guiding light - within you - your answers to such questions would have prompter responses. Trust me - I can vouch for this until my last breath. Remember, you can play society, American standards, 2.5+ children, income needs all that good stuff that us humans are left down here struggling with ..but there's only one God and you've got only one life.. enjoy it to the fullest with what God's given you. Amen. matt. |

I would first pray about finding a wife..smiles! It is awesome that you are looking to God for guidance on such important life decisions. My husband was in his early 40s when we met/married; I know he wasn't expecting, then, the life that we have now, complete with a beautiful baby boy. So, I guess what I'm saying is, pray on it and be patient. You never know what God has planned for you, only that it is the right plan. All the very best!
