Him saying those that don't agree are immature christians totally contridicts your moral ethics you demonstrated on me since of course its against the rules and everything.

"Please remain polite and respectful to all members, even if you don't agree, you can still show forth the grace of God in you, by Jesus Christ the Lord, towards others."

Why did you exercise this grace you speak of on him but not me you could of at least spoken to me about editing it or it will be deleted and reported. When someones words ain't backed up by his actions its called hypocrisy and you could argue with me tell the cows come home but the facts are grace is unmerited favour to which you have shown me none thus far.

Nevertheless, I apologise for writing sarcastic comments about AJS and if it was rude it was never meant to be, it was made to stir some fun and laughter around while enjoying my stay here for however long I am here for.

Bless you in your walk.

I'm a recording artist myself R/B Rap Hip/hop Praise/worship I also play Guitar/Piano and make up my own instrumentals through Fruity Loops Producer Edition.

I'm using my Music as bait if I can get them off listening to what ever there listening to, to listening to me. Then at least those seeds of encouragement and goodness not to mention spiritual Grit is getting planted on there seed beds which is to say there Hearts.

This is the same for Metal if say "Demonhunter" can get people off listening to whatever their listening to, and tune into them. Then Good on them and all success to that ministry.

We have a heavy/metal Song. Its called "more than able". In church, distorted guitar lead breakouts. We have another one too its called "King of Glory (Jesus)"

Our elders are up there in spirit, our elders stay young in the spirit. They call themselves the Keenagers. Yes that means there rocking too, but like most of us here I hope we're not moved by the music. We're moved by what God says the maincourse hot off the grill, nice fresh revelatory Word of and from God.

AJS

Have you not heard your worryed about the splinter in your brothers eye when theres a beam in yours Mat 7:3.
God will use the foolish things of this world to confound the wise in 1 Cor 1:27. If Metal is foolish to you then God is obviously trying to show you something.
AJS you judged some of us to that of a.... "immature" Christian was it.

Well I know that judging those that don't agree by namecalling is against the rules around here and is also an insult to God. So please keep those sort of opinions off these panels or Ill be force to write letters pal!! Jokes.

Anyways, the Devil's pushing his agenda and quite frankly I'm tired of Christians staying idle and saying stuff like Peace, love what ever will be will be. When are some christians ever going to wake up and push God's agenda too wether its through Metal, Rap, Country or House.

[People are too busy tending to there sins, you can't be tending to your lust's, you can't be tending to your wounds. A wounded soldier can't fight no battles as a matter of fact a wounded soldier usually pulls in other soldiers off the field or worser still onto the field into the wide open.

There should be no excuses for those that are born of God. My Bible tells me those that are born of him are overcomers (1Jn5:4) Yes overcomers!! we are overcomers!!. If your not overcoming then start believing that you are cause I didn't say that about you, God did. God said you (wounded soldiers) are Overcomers if you are Born of me.]

People God is moving in the present, the present has its resources to catch men in this modern day and age. After-all we are all fishers of men since our first priority is to seek the Kingdom, amen? (seek ye first the Kingdom of God)

Then we will all need all the bait we can get to build the Kingdom. Wether it be from the foolish, the wise or Heavy Metal.

Rock On:

Hey AJS,

While I feel that *predominantly* Metal is non-Christian, I don't feel that we can just paint it with one brush, and consider all of it to be sacreligious. You've read several examples of exceptions to the rule.

There used to be a Christian Hair Metal Band called Stryper - but who is to say that all God Loving Music has to fit one particular genre? If they bring true worship to Christ, then go for it.

Greater is He that is in ME than he that is in the world.

I have been a big rock fan for many years...Im 42 now and still love it..Im also a preachers kid..My parents never stopped me or my sister from listening to anything...But, if we had been listening to the type of metal/rock thats out there today, then no, they would have not allowed that kind of music...I agree with what your sayin...I am troubled by those christian rock bands who sound, look like the world...I can't tell any difference and I don't feel God in any of it...I see and feel evil from it not inspiration and peace...So, if I were you bro I wouldn't let my kids listen to it...When they turn 18 and want to listen to it out of your house, well, so be it...You pray about this...Sounds like God is already speaking to you by the way you "feel" about this music...
God bless you for being a christian Dad who wants to raise up good, moral christians kids to be our leaders of tomorrow...

heavy meatal/rock as well as holy hip hop is like serving a big t-bone steak with mash potatoes with all the fixing you like on a trash lid. I remember bill cosby saying that. The meal(words) are good but the presentation(forum) isn't.

Metal… - 08-05-08, 03:13 PM

Here’s what Louis thinks: Music is music. Notes are notes. Rhythm is rhythm. Me, and most of my peers, don’t care much about the musical quality of the stuff they listen to but are concerned more with the atmosphere, the “vibe” of it. In keeping with this, contemporary secular (commercial) culture use musical elements as mere tools with which to create a sellable atmosphere. The lyrics/words, in most cases, are incidental and inconsequential to the listener (said with respect to the belief in subconscious/subliminal influence, which I for one don’t share).

Another main element that I’d consider is the perceived “genre” the music appears to come out of. Someone who grew up with Nine Inch Nails will not be captivated by HillSongs, and this is simply based on differences in the inherent qualities of the genres. I expect that some responses to this could be based on “the Newborn Christian is a changed creature, how can you hold onto the old self…”.

Louis rambles on: HillSongs tend to echo emotions that are pure and positive, happy or glad or rejoicing, and they combine these with melody and harmony to create a sound that mostly resonates as major, producing a friendly, optimistic sound.
Nine Inch Nails, to the contrary, echo emotions that strike one as aggression, fear, doubt, anger, sadness, grief, regret, melancholy, etc. Mostly in minor. I speak for myself here of course, but HillSongs’ music simply doesn’t hold any appeal to me. In fact, I find contemporary Christian music of any genre downright irritating, simply because to me it appears contrived. In fact, if it’s not industrial music or at least heavy-hearted classical music, I prefer not to know about it.
I don’t know why, but I suspect it has to do with the general vibe of it – I’ve never liked “happy” or “nice” or “funny” or “pretty” music. Not as a child, and even less now.

How all of this jabbering of mine relates to the musical tastes of a teenager, I cannot tell. All I know is – I’m a happily married parent with two planned kids myself, and despite my (questionable) musical tastes, I am actually a good person and I have a relationship with Christ – as in He controls everything from my major decisions (emigrate or not), to my medium range issues (do I buy this car/house or not) to my more fleeting daily issues (do I manipulate a situation in my favour or do I let His will prevail).

Thanks for letting me confuse the issue completely

Is Jesus Magnified? - 08-06-08, 12:20 AM

My Brothers and Sisters,
I used to feed my ears almost nonstop on the likes of Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, and, really any type of Acid Rock that had everyone thinking that would keep me walking around "stoned" on the music and lyrics of my addiction! It was the "drug" of my choice!
When I came to Christ in my late teens my tastes changed to music that encouraged me and, most of all expressed pure adoration for the new love of my life - Jesus! In the past 39 years, what I've found is that I can, actually, find some enjoyment in the different genres whether it's traditional, contemporary, rap, gospel, reggae, alternative, fringe, blues, rock, metal, or whatever! But it must meet one key critieria: It MUST put more spotlight on the cross and Christ than on the band and its showmanship! When the goal is to get the cause those in darkness to look towards the true Light....count on me in! When it's all about you and the creative noise you can make, my earplugs are no longer in their box! It's always good when Jesus is heard as something more than a substitute swear word, Amen?
So, in closing, a word to the purchasing public: if you don't hear the name of Jesus anywhere on the CD of a so-called Christian band, then you're about to pay alot of money for a really fancy "noisey" table-coaster ( or a poorly designed "frisbee" ) !

Blessings!
Whendancer
