Contemporary Christian Music’s latest "rock-gods" are the metal-rap-rockers called P.O.D. Sporting heavily tattooed and pierced bodies, P.O.D. has completely destroyed any remaining fragments of Biblical walls of Christian separation, gospel and convictions. P.O.D has subtilty introduced and indoctrinated Christian young people to a false, anti-Jesus, religion.

NOTE:

Before I get started, let me emphasize just how popular P.O.D. is. Their album Fundamental Elements of Southtown (released Aug. 24, 1999) went platinum in two years. Their recent album Satellite (released Sept. 11, 2001) in just four weeks went platinum. In case you don't know — to receive platinum status — a record must sell a million copies. So we're dealing with a very popular band. And the great majority of their fans are Christian young people.

In this article, we’ll clearly document, P.O.D., (like much of CCM. which we have documented many times):

# Disobey the clear teachings of the Bible.
# Pervert the Lord Jesus Christ.
# Use filthy profanity in their speech.
# Proudly admit to drinking alcoholic beverages.
# Fellowship and promote openly wicked, vulgar and satanic music.
# Corrupt the pure teachings of Jesus Christ with the false religion of Rastafarianism.
# Attack Bible Believing Christians and Christianity.

Because of the seriousness and spiritual danger of P.O.D., this is a lengthy and detailed article. I would encourage you, very strongly, especially young people, parents or pastors of young people, who are listening to P.O.D. and today’s Christian Rock, to take the time and read it thoroughly and prayerfully.

We’ve tried to be honest, but plain and straight forward (2 Cor. 3.12, Matt. 5:37). We’ve documented our material.

It breaks my heart to see so many Christian young people so deceived and following these groups and their music. And P.O.D. are not alone – there are many such groups polluting so-called Christian music.

For some Christians this material will not be easy to digest. In fact, it will be very hard to read, and even harder to take action. For some it will make you angry – angry at me for telling you the truth. But as the Apostle Paul said to the Galatians:
"Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?"
Galatians 4:16

One of the primary purposes of music is to "teach and admonish one another":

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
Colossians 3:16

I am frightened when I look out on the horizon of today’s Christianity and see openly rebellious and disobedient groups such as P.O.D., "teaching and admonishing" our young people. There are very few voices speaking out against the corruption in today’s Christian music – most are promoting and praising it.

If the Lord Jesus Christ, does not come back very soon – with the perversion, corruption, tolerance, and lack of spiritual discernment being taught in today’s Christian music, how in the world will the Christian young people of tomorrow, be able to "quench all the fiery darts of the wicked." (Ephesians 6:16)

If you are a Christian that loves the Lord Jesus Christ and your desire is to live for Him – before you begin reading this article – please pray and ask the Lord if He would help you discern the truth. He promised He would:

7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
Matthew 7:7-8

It is good to see others that think like this. Righteousness is shining through the darkness. It is the ones that really have a relationship with the Lord that can see clearly and see the errors in this type of music.

The way I see it, music is an expression of the soul. The type of music people play or are into is a reflection of what is going on inside.

A beautiful inner man which can see Jesus expresses beautiful music lining up with the fruits of the Spirit.

Reading the things on the P.O.D and the Works of Darkness actually made me physically sick...What a blasphemous, ungodly culture we live in today! The spirit of the anti-christ is truly alive today. People are so caught up in the lies their told daily by the devil and they fall for it. God help them...

I don't think that all Christian bands are bad, but yeah, I should keep my eye out for them. P.O.D is definatly not a Christian band in my opinion. I agree with that.

P.O.D. is Probably On Death band...lolz... i dont believe that they are REAL Christians too... lets pray for teens not to be deceived.

I'm glad someobody finally did some research on them. I just didnt feel comfortable listening to this band. I never read the interviews so I never heard their profanity, one thing though, I'd never have spotted that Rustafarianism (sp? O_O) in their lyrics. Well, any teenager who argues with that article is incredibly foolish! Facts are facts, I thank you so much for posting that ^_^

I am not sure what the discussion is about. After Doing a study on the subject and a study on all most all of P.O.D's Lyrics I find no place they talk about anything Christian.

Not, one time in any song have I seen them mention Jesus.

Most of their songs are about being blinded, or can't believe it's true. One song even talked about being shot at school. Now that is uplifting.
There is no faith in any of their music.

They make references to "The King" "The son" "Mighty One" "Zion in a few songs" ETC....... but never one mention about Jesus. I wonder who their king really is.

Scriptures will tell us though.

ronaldo: This is not about tattoo's. I understand that they are hard to remove, but how is that an excuse to tour with Kid Rock, or hang out with Howard Stern? How about Korn? Howard Stern said he had no idea they were Christians until someone told him. Now there is a good witness.

I have nothing against Christian Rock. Jeremy Camp can sound pretty crunchy at times. Like I said, Christian Rock!!!! Not the junk P.O.D peddles.

As for praying for P.O.D, why? They know what they are doing. They know they are deceiving. Any one that calls themselves a Christian, and thinks P.O.D is great, Is not listening to the Holy Ghost or never had been really born again.
It is real sure that they do not read the Word of God, or they would compare what P.O.D is singing about and compare it with the Word of truth.......
