And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, blessed
and broke it, and gave it to the disciples and said,
"Take, eat; this is My body." Then He took the cup,
and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying,
"Drink from it, all of you. For this is My blood of the
New Covenant, which is shed for many for the
remission of sins.
( Matthew 26:26-28 *NKJV )
This week as we remember Jesus' last week as a human
being, and we recall "The Last Supper" that Jesus shared
with His Disciples, so let us be mindful of the meaning of
"My blood of the new covenant."
You see, the people of the Old Covenant [those who lived
before Christ], could approach God only through a Priest
and an animal [ blood ] sacrifice. Now we may come
directly to God through our faith, because the death of
Jesus' has made us acceptable in God's sight! For it is
written; for all have sinned and fall short of the
glory of God, being justified freely by His grace
through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus
( Romans 3:23-24 *NKJV )
So , the next time you take Communion, that is
[Commune with God], or share the Eucharist [Thanksgiving],
quietly reflect on the events that took place this week, and
Christ's promise to return again. For that return will be a
truly joyful day, a day of great reward, for all of God's
Children that are saved! Amen!
