One day an individual died and went to the pearly gates where Peter was standing guard. The man said hey how do I get in? Peter replied you need a hundred points to pass by these gates into heaven.. The man thought to himself Wow I really lead a good life I’ll tell Peter all about it I’m sure to get my hundred points. He said to Peter I was obedient to my Father and Mother I taught Sunday school and I always went to church. Peter replied, good you got 1 point. The man could not believe it. He then told Peter he fed the poor, visited people in hospitals and took care of the sick and the lame. Peter said wow you got 2 points. The man was really sweating now He said I have obeyed the Ten Commandments from youth I gave always to the church my tithes and offerings. I prayed and fasted for others. Peter then showed a big smile on his face for this man was really genuine. Peter said wow you now got three points. The man cried out how in the world can a man be saved. Peter said by repentance towards God and placing your faith in Jesus you would have received 100 points of what Jesus did by dying on the cross. As it was you only trusted in your good points and rejected the fact that you are a sinner in need of a Savior.
