Bible Verses Stating Jesus is God
Jesus was: "God Among Us"

"Shema Yisrael Adonai Eloheinu Adonai Echad."

"Hear, O Israel: the Lord our God is one Lord"
Deuteronomy 6: 4

But, our one God is Spirit and Light, with 3 natures
Jesus is God also, a part of the same spirit and the same light of the Father. The Son differs to the Father nature as being Greater than the Son. When Jesus was fully man (and fully God), He was "positionally" inferior to the Father. The Son is also the Logos, and the Word of God, who made everything seen & unseen by His Word.

The Father differs to the Son nature for our Salvation (our only mediator).

The Holy Spirit permeates all to bring us knowledge of God.

Reference to the Trinity

16 Come ye near unto me, hear ye this; I have not spoken in secret from the beginning; from the time that it was, there am I: and now the Lord GOD, and his Spirit, hath sent me. 17 Thus saith the LORD, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; Isaiah 48:16-17

The New Testament doctrine of the Trinity is evident in such a verse as John 15:26, where the Lord Jesus said: "But when the Comforter is come whom I will send unto you from the Father, He shall testify of me."

The baptismal formula shows 3:

"baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost" (Matthew 28:19).

1st. Note how Jesus always cast out demons, cured the sick, and did miracles in His own name. Also, on several occasions Jesus deliberately said; "I AM". This would never have been taken lightly by any Jew of Jesus' time.

Think! Take for example Jesus’ words in John 10:30, “I and the Father are one.” When first encountered, this might not seem to be a claim to be God. However, when we look at the Jews’ reaction to His statement, “For a good work we stone thee not; replied the Jews, but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.” (John 10:33). Now we see an actual claim. The Jews understood Jesus’ statement to be a claim to be God. In the following verses, Jesus never corrects the Jews by saying, “I did not claim to be God.” That indicates Jesus was truly saying He was God by declaring, “I and the Father are one” (John 10:30).

John 8:58 is another example. Jesus declared, "I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am. " Again, in response, the Jews take up stones in an attempt to stone Jesus (John 8:59). Why would the Jews want to stone Jesus if He hadn’t said something they believed to be blasphemous, namely, a claim to be God?

John 1:1 says that “the Word was God.” John 1:14 says that “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us” This clearly indicates that Jesus is God in the flesh. Acts 20:28 tells us, "...Be shepherds of the church of God, which He bought with His own blood." Who bought the church with His own blood? Jesus Christ. Acts 20:28 declares that God purchased the church with His own blood. Therefore, Jesus is God!

To try and grasp the Trinity, first understand that God the Father the Son and Holy Spirit are Spirit, light, awesomeness, power, justice and love -- and He in no way conforms to a human's understanding. Jesus told us God is Spirit. Shine two beams of light on the same spot, and you have the light of one, separate, yet also the same as the others. An example of Jesus' light and the Father's light as the same is at this true Near Death Experience here.

Next, try to grasp Jesus' nature as being both totally human and totally God. To help you with this consider these paradoxes by early church father Gregory of Nazianzus (329-390 A.D.). Gregory used these to argue against Arianism.

"He was baptized as a man -- but He remitted sins as God...He was tempted as man, but he conquered as God...He hungered -- but He fed thousands...He was wearied, but He is the rest of them that are weary and heavy-laden. He was heavy with sleep, but He walked lightly over the sea...He pays tribute, but it is out of a fish; yea He is the king of those who demanded it...He prays, but he hears prayer. He weeps, but He causes tears to cease. He asks where Lazarus was laid, for He was man; but He raises Lazarus, for He was God. He is sold, and very cheap, for it is only for thirty pieces of silver; but He redeems the world, and that at a great price, for the price was His blood. As a sheep he is led to the slaughter, but He is the shepherd of Israel, and now of the whole world also...He is bruised and wounded, but He heals every disease and every infirmity. He is lifted up and nailed to the tree, but by the tree of life He restores us. He dies, but he gives life, and by His death He destroys death."

Cyril of Alexandria (376 - 444 AD) says, ‘Indeed, the mystery of Christ runs the risk of being disbelieved precisely because it is so incredibly wonderful. For God was in humanity. He who was above all creation was in our human condition; the invisible one was made visible in the flesh; he who is from the heavens and from on high was in the likeness of earthly things; the immaterial one could be touched; he who is free in his own nature came in the form of a slave; he who blesses all creation became accursed; he who is all righteousness was numbered among the transgressors; life itself came in the appearance of death. All this followed because the body, which tasted death, belonged to no other but to him who is the Son by nature,’ [On the Unity of Christ]
And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory. 1 Timothy 3:16
Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. Isaiah 7:14 (written: 712 BC (Before Christ)
Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call His name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. Matthew 1:23
For unto us a Child is born, unto us a son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder: and his name will be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6 (written: 712 BC (Before Christ)

And there came a fear on all: and they glorified God, saying, That a great prophet is risen up among us; and, That God hath visited his people. Luke 7:16

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:1

because he had not only broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making Himself equal with God. John 5:18
Jesus said:
I and my Father are one. John 10:30

The Jews answered him [Jesus], saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God. John 10:33

When many were about to stone Jesus for blasphemy (John 10:30-39), He said to them that said he blasphemed "because I said, I am the Son of God?" (John 10:36).

You call Me Teacher and Lord; and ye say well; for so I Am. John 13:13

But he held his peace, and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him, and said unto him, Art thou the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?

And Jesus said, I Am: and ye shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven. Mark 14:61-62

The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool. Psalm 110:1

he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father? John 14:9

And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was. John 17:5

And Thomas answered and said unto him [Jesus], My Lord and my God. John 20:28

...lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. 2 Corinthians 4:4

In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. Colossians 1:14-17

...Who [Jesus], being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: Philippians 2:6

...For in him [Jesus] dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily. Colossians 2:9

...who [Jesus] is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords; 1 Timothy 6:15

Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high. Hebrews 1:2-3

But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom. Hebrews 1:8

Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; Titus 2:13

And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, "KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS. Revelation 19:16

I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins. John 8:24

Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am. John 8:58

Not everyone who says to me, “Lord, Lord,” will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven Matthew 7:21

And he shall pass through Judah; he shall overflow and go over, he shall reach even to the neck; and the stretching out of his wings shall fill the breadth of thy land, O Immanuel (means God Among Us).
"Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in earth. In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is his name whereby he shall be called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS. Jeremiah 23:5-6
Once, a paralytic man was presented before Jesus for healing (Luke 5:17-26), and Jesus said, “Man, thy sins are forgiven thee” (Luke 5:20). And the scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, Who is this which speaketh blasphemies? Who can forgive sins, but God alone? (Luke 5:21). But Jesus (God in flesh) knew their thoughts and queried,
But when Jesus perceived their thoughts, he answering said unto them, What reason ye in your hearts? Whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Rise up and walk? But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power upon earth to forgive sins, (he said unto the sick of the palsy,) I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy couch, and go into thine house. (Luke 5:22-24) And immediately he rose up before them, and took up that whereon he lay, and departed to his own house, glorifying God

Revelation 19:11-14 - speaking of Yeshua/Jesus leading the Army of Heaven:
11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. 12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. 13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. 14 And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.

Jehovah shares His glory only with Jesus...

In Isaiah 42:8 Jehovah himself is speaking, and He emphatically declares "I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images." Again, in Isaiah 48:11, Jehovah is speaking, and He declares: "For mine own sake, even for mine own sake, will I do it: for how should my name be polluted? and I will not give my glory unto another."

John 17:5 tells us Jesus said; "And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was."

Of course that is Jesus speaking of being part of the Godhead Himself. Since God will not share His glory. And Jesus tells us He had this glory with Yahweh/Jehovah before creation. What more proof from Jehovah or the lips of Jesus do you want?

The Scriptures bear unmistakable testimony to the creative activity of God's Son, distinguishing Him from among the "things" created, as the Creator and Sustainer of "all things."

The Book of Colossians:

The entire context of Colossians 1:15-27 is filled with superlatives in its description of the Lord Jesus as the "image of the invisible God, the first begetter [or according to Erasmus ''original bringer forth''] of every creature."

The Apostle Paul lauds the Son of God as Creator of all things (v.16) and describes Him as existing "before all things" and as the one by whom "all things consist" (v.17). This is in perfect harmony with the entire picture Scripture paints of the Eternal Word of God (John 1:1), who was made flesh (John 1:14) and of whom it was written: "All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made" (John 1:3). The writer of Hebrews also pointed out that God's Son "[upholds] all things by the word of his power" (Hebrews 1:3) and that He is Deity in all its fullness, even as Paul wrote to the Colossians: "For...in him should all fullness (of God) dwell" (Colossians 1:19)

WHAT ABOUT THIS "SON OF MAN" THING?

The expression, “son of man,” was used in the Old Testament by Daniel as the term for the Messiah Who, at His second descent to earth at the end of this age, would come “...with the clouds of heaven” (Daniel 7:13,14). This same scene was described in more detail by John:
And I looked, and behold a white cloud, and upon the cloud one sat like unto the Son of man, having on his head a golden crown, and in his hand a sharp sickle. (Revelation 14:14).
Concomitantly, Jesus’ favorite term for Himself was the “Son of Man” (Matthew 8:20, 9:6, 10:23, 12:8,32,40, 13:37,41, 16:27,28, 17:9,12,22, 18:11, 19:28, 20:18,28, 24:27,30,37,39,44, 25:31, 26:2,24,45; John 1:51, 5:27, 6:27,62, 8:28, 9:35, 12:23, 13:31). Using “Son of Man” really was an expression of humility, an indication of how God actually had been willing to lower Himself to mankind’s level by being born of a virgin (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:18-25). Now, it generally was accepted by the chief priests and teachers of the law that “Son of Man” meant “Son of God.”

When Jesus was led before the council of the elders of the people (Luke 22:66-71), He made the statement that “...Hereafter shall the Son of man sit on the right hand of the power of God.,” they asked, “Are you then the Son of God?” (22:69,70a). Jesus replied, “Then said they all, Art thou then the Son of God? And he said unto them, Ye say that I am. His enemies confirmed that they understood this to be a claim by Jesus to be the Son of God by their response, “And they said, What need we any further witness? for we ourselves have heard of his own mouth. ”

The Father is God, the son is God, the Holy Spirit is God. I'd think the answer to your question would be no. While Jesus is God, He is not the Father and while the son is God, He is not the Holy Spirit.

1 John 5:7
"For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one." KJV

We see the Word is Jesus Christ in the below verses.

John 1:1
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." KJV

The Word was God.

John 1:14
"And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth." KJV

The Word was made flesh and dwelt among us. We see hear that Jesus Christ is referred to the Word. Therefore, the Word was Jesus Christ in 1 John 5:7.

I hope this helped you, sister. God Bless

hey,now this is confusing, how can the holyspirit be God,the father be God,the son be God and Jesus be god and still not be all these three?there is a verse in matthew where Jesus commanded the disciples to go and baptise all nations in the NAME of the father ,the son ,and the holyspirit.because Jesus said the name and yet mentioned three titles does it not mean that there is one who is called the father ,the son and the holyspirit?and if Jesus is not the father,or holyspirit, which of the three will we meet when we get to heaven?

Jesus Christ is the Son of GOD and the 3 person of GOD are indeed 3-in-1 GOD. Three persons = One GOD. When we go to Heaven, we will see GOD. Remember, Jesus this:

John 14:8-10 (King James Version)

8Philip saith unto him, Lord, show us the Father, and it sufficeth us.
9Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Show us the Father?
10Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.

The three are one, Jesus came from the father, the Holy spirit also proceeds from the father, But the name is differs for administraion purposes. I mean, for God to save the world he came to us as the saviour (Jesus), Phil 2:9 Jesus knew that he was God, because of the mission he came to fulfil, he humbled himself and died. When his work was accomplished in this aspect, God knew that we cannot stay on earth without Him, so he dwells with and in us as the Holy spirit.

Hello Ratanang, I want to know your understanding about heaven? what from your opinion do you think heaven is or looks like. God is in the spiritual, Jesus same and the holy spirit. when we get to heaven we shall also be like them so we will not need to see any one because we are all the same then.

And I think again if there is any one to see is Jesus, because he is the one manifested in the flesh, and he will sit as the judge, he is the word that will judge the world

hey,now this is confusing, how can the holyspirit be God,the father be God,the son be God and Jesus be god and still not be all these three? (God is omnipotent)there is a verse in matthew where Jesus commanded the disciples to go and baptise all nations in the NAME of the father ,the son ,and the holyspirit.because Jesus said the name and yet mentioned three titles does it not mean that there is one who is called the father ,the son and the holyspirit?and if Jesus is not the father,or holyspirit, which of the three will we meet when we get to heaven?

Jesus is God...period. One throne. The NAME is Jesus, that is why any where any baptism is spoken of in the bible it was into the NAME of Jesus...pretty simple, unless one is left still seeking the mystery. Point out anywhere in the scripture where anyone was ever baptised with the titles said over them. (will anyone even look?)
Jesus is the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. We will see Him as He is.

I will believe in a Trinity (again) if someone will show me where anyone was ever baptised otherwise.

Of understanding the trinity, the late Catholic Cardinal John O'Conner (1920-2000) said: "We know that it is a profound mystery, which we don't begin to understand." And the late Pope Paul II (1920-2005) spoke of the "inscrutable mystery of the trinity". Thus, as noted by these religious figures, the trinity is a maze of confusion, for it does not add up to what the Bible really teaches.

Here are some questions to ponder.

(1) Why is the Father always spoken of as having sons (2 Cor 6:18) and never "brothers", whereas Jesus is spoken of as having "brothers" (Matt 25:40; Heb 2:17, Ps 22:22) but never sons ?

(2) Why does the Bible always show Jesus as the Son of God (Matt 16:16; John 20:31) and not as God ?

(3) Why does the Bible teach that the Son, Jesus, receives the "kingdom" (Dan 7:13,14; Luke 22:29; Isa 9:6) and never God as receiving it ?

(4) Why is Jesus, the Son, always spoken of being "sent forth" by the Father (John 4:34; 7:16,28,29) but never God the Father as being "sent forth" by the Son ?

(5) Why did Jesus always pray to his Father and not the Father to the Son ?(Matt 6:9; 11:25; 26:39,42,44)

(6) Why is Jesus called God's "servant", but never is God called Jesus "servant" ?(Isa 42:1; Matt 12:18; Acts 3:13,26; Acts 4:27,29)

(7) Why did Jesus call himself the "firstborn of all creation", at Revelation 3:14, but of God, he is from "everlasting to everlasting", at Psalms 90:2 ?

(8) Why was Jesus "exalted to the right hand of God"(Acts 2:33; Phil 2:9; 1 Pet 3:22), but never has God been exalted to the right hand of Jesus ?

(9) Why is Jesus spoken as the "Lamb of God"(John 1:29), but never God as the ' Lamb of Jesus' ?

(10) Why is Jesus always called the Son (Matt 3:17; 17:5), but never the Father, and why is God always called the Father (2 Cor 1:3; Eph 1:3,17) but never the Son ?

(11) Why is Jesus taught by the Father (John 7:28), but the Father is taught by no one ?(Isa 40:13)

to better understand this look at humans. which are made in his like ness and his image.

we have a body in the greek a soma.
a spirit or pnema(maybe i spelled transliteration wrong) it is where we get the word pnematic. and god breathed the breathe of life into mans nostrils and he became a living soul. and what is that feeling in our chest even down in our belly when we have done wrong? or good? or felt love? the feeling encompasses many physical organs. so it cant be just physical. thats your spirit.
and we have a mind the greek spelling of the transliterated word fails me but its like this soo-khay its where we get psyche or psycologist. ive heard it said mind will and emotions. but im not sure it is emotions because i "feel" in my heart" but the two have a connection.
in genisis it says in 1:26 and God said let US make man in OUR image and in OUR likeness and let him have dominion over...
then in verse 27 it says...
so God created man in HIS own imagein the image of God created he him male and female created he them.
he went from PLURAL form to SINGULAR form.
and there are three The Father, The Word, and The Holy Spirit, and these three are ONE. just as we are one we have three parts. when adam sinned he lost fellowship with God. His SPIRIT died. God said eat from any fruit but not from the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil for ON THE DAY YOU EAT you shall surely die. but he didnt die God came walking in the cool of the day as he was acoustmed to and adam was naked (not wearing jesus like we have to "put on jesus" daily) and so he hid. its like a phone line and you didnt pay the bill. phones good but the line is dead. no dial tone. no spirit=no fellowship.
adam was comanded not to eat from the tree of KNOWLEDGE of good and evil and he did. eversince then man is born with a dead phone line. needing fellowship. needing Jesus. needing another kind of KNOWLEDGE.
neway thats another example of three in ONE. aka The Holy ONE of Isreal.

The Truth!!!

Truly The Son Of God
Who is Jesus of Nazareth? When He walked upon this earth over nineteen hundred years ago He asked His disciples: “Whom do men say that I, the Son of man am?” They answered that some declared Him to be John the Baptist, while others claimed that He was Elias, and others Jeremias, or one of the prophets. He said to His disciples, “But whom say ye that I am?” (Matt. 16:15). Here we find the correct answer as to whom Jesus is. The man who knows and believes this and can give this answer from the depth of his heart in spirit and in truth is blessed. He has had revelation from heaven through the Word of truth. Hear the answer of truth! “Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God” (Matt. 16:16). Unless we come without any strings attached, without any wresting or twisting of these words, and believe them just as they are stated, we cannot know the living God. Neither do we understand His plan of salvation.
”Thou art the Christ,” means, “Thou art the Anointed One.” Now those who contend that Jesus was God Himself or the High God can never believe that Jesus was the Anointed One. Why? Those who advocate that Jesus is God Himself claim there is a triune God and therefore is equal to and co-existent with God the Father.
In Acts 10:38 we find these words: “God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power.” Let us think honestly and clearly before God. If Jesus were God Himself or part of a trinity Godhead, equal and co-existent with two other parts in a God head of three, it would be impossible for Him to be anointed by any one of the other two. That would make one of them greater than He. The Bible clearly states that “God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power.” If God had not anointed Jesus with the Holy Ghost and with power, could He ever have accomplished anything worthy of mention? How many sins could He have forgiven? How many sick could He have healed? Could He have raised the dead? You see, Jesus was not God, but was the Son of God and was dependent upon His Father. (John 5:19-21)
Now hear the Word of the Lord. It may change your theology; it may destroy what you have believed for years; but it is the truth. John 5:19 states, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do.” Look closely at this for a moment. If Jesus were God Himself, or even equal with God, then Jesus could do nothing of Himself and neither could God. Someone will say that He can do what He sees the Father do. That is true. Jesus can do what He sees His Father do, but if they are equal, God must also see His father act before He is able to do His wonderful acts. God has no father. Even a child prejudiced to the teachings of men can see the error in this line of thought.
John 5:20 states, “The Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth: and he will shew him greater works than these, that ye may marvel.” Now if Jesus were God Himself, or equal with God, and had been with God from all eternity, would God have to show Him the works that He did? Friends, the doctrines of the trinity and of the pre-existence are doctrines of the devils that are to destroy men’s faith in the true God and in Jesus His Son.
In John 5:26 and 27, we read, “As the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself; and hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man.” Now you either believe this or you deny it. Notice, the Father has life in Himself. God only has immortality, but how did Jesus get life? The Father gave it to Him, both natural life through birth, and immortality through a resurrection. If Jesus were God Himself or equal with God, God could not give Him life, for He would already have it even as the Father has it . Then again, how did Jesus get His authority to execute judgment? Hear again the Word of God. God gave it to Him. Could Jesus be as great as the Father, if the Father is the one who anointed Him with power and gave Him life and gave Him His authority? The only reason Jesus has the authority He now has is because God gave it to Him.
In John 5:30 Jesus repeats again, “I can of mine own self do nothing.” Could Jesus do anything of Himself alone? He said He could of His own self do nothing. Did God ever do anything by Himself? In Isaiah 44:24 it is said of God, “I am the Lord that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone; that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself.” Many say that Jesus helped to create the earth or that He was the Creator, but here the speaker said, “I stretched forth the heavens alone and spread abroad the earth by myself.” Jesus said, “I can of mine own self do nothing.” The disciples of Christ knew full well that Jesus was not God, neither any part of a trinity Godhead, but was the Son of God, begotten by the Spirit and power of God according to the Word of God born of the virgin Mary. Born – really born – not incarnated, but born!
I would like to say here that the words “God the Son”, ”pre-existent” , “trinity” , and “incarnate” are nowhere found in the Bible. They are terms put to use by the satanic host to deceive ministers and churchgoers and to rob them of ever knowing the real Son of God. This is what Peter had reference to in 2 Peter 2:1 when he said, “There shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.”
Friends, do you deny the Lord that bought you? Do you know which Lord bought you? It could not be God Himself, for God cannot die. It cannot be a trinity Christ, for He would be equal with God. Since God cannot die, neither could a trinity Christ. The Scriptures declare that Christ died for our sins. (1 Cor. 15:3) According to the Scriptures, the Son of God, born of a virgin, brought into existence by the power of God, being anointed with life from God, power and authority from God, died for our sins, thus giving His entire life for us. But, thanks be to God, He raised Him up from the dead.
The world, by accepting the pre-existent theory and the doctrine of the trinity, deny the flesh and bones that God caused to be born to be our Savior. Dear friends, if you deny the flesh and bones that God caused to come forth to life from Mary’s womb, you deny the Lord that bought you. This is what Jesus had reference to when He said that many false Christs would arise and deceive, not a few, but many. Today more people believe and pay tribute to and glorify and pray to a false Christ, who never did die for them, than they that accept a flesh-and-bones Savior who died on a tree for our sins. The false Christ is the pre-existent Christ, the trinity Christ, the Christ that is said to be God Himself. The true Christ is the Son of the living God and the anointed of Him.
In John 6:57 we find, “As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father.” Notice that the living Father sent the Son. Could one God be equal with another when one was sent of the other? Notice also Jesus said, “I live by [and through] the Father.” Without the Father, Jesus never would have existed and had life.
In John 7:16 Jesus said, “My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me.” If Jesus were God Himself or a part of a trinity God, how could He say, “My doctrine is not mine” ? If Jesus were equal to the Father and the doctrine He was giving was not His, does Jesus have a doctrine just as equal and powerful and strong as the doctrine of His Father? And does the Holy Spirit also have another doctrine? Would their doctrines be the same or different?
Jesus gave us to know that He had nothing to do with the origin of the doctrines which He spoke. They originated with the Father, and the Son spoke the doctrines of the Father. In John 7:28 Jesus said, “Ye both know me, and ye know whence I am: and I am not come of myself, but he that sent me is true, whom ye know not.” If Jesus were God Himself, would He not have had to send Himself? He said, “I am not come of myself.” Friend, did you or I come of ourself? We had nothing to do with it. We did not come into existence by our will, for we had no will, no life, no intellect, until we were born. The same is true of Christ. Jesus did not come of Himself, but God sent Him. If there were three equal Gods, why would one God send another one of the other two to die? If one could send one of the other two to die, would not the one that had power to send be greater? When God spoke of Jesus in the old testament he said: Deuteronomy 18:18 I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee (Moses), and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him. Deuteronomy 18:19 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him. Jesus spoke Gods words that he himself gave to him. 1 Chronicles 22:10 He shall build an house for my name; and he shall be my son, and I will be his father; and I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel for ever. Hebrews 1:5 For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?
In John 8:28 Jesus said, “I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things.” When one God has to be taught of another God, the God that does the teaching would be the greater. If Jesus were co-equal with God and co-existent with Him, He would not have to be taught from the Father.
Again, Jesus said in John 8:42, “I proceed forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me.” Jesus told us in John 10:18, “I have power to lay it [my life] down, and I have power to take it again. ” Where did He get this power? He said, “This commandment have I received of my Father.” When one person gives another person commandments, one is supreme to the other. Jesus said in John 10:29, “My Father … is greater than all. “1 Corinthians 11:3 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.
Friends, do you not understand that Jesus is the anointed flesh and bones which God brought forth to life by His Holy Spirit, His own power, and that there is no other Savior of truth who could die for us? First John 2:22 says, “Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Anointed One?” Friend, if you contend that Jesus is God Himself, or a part of a trinity God, or a pre-existent Jesus, with power to create before He was born, then He could never be anointed by the Father.
Understand this, “He is antichrist that denieth the Father and Son.” The Father is God and Jesus Christ is His Son, born of the virgin by the power of God. They are two separate and different beings. Anyone who denies this is antichrist. Which side are you on?
May God help you to believe in His Son, even as the Ethiopian eunuch, who said, “I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.”
1JN 4:15 Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.
1JN 5:5 Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?
1JN 5:10 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.
1JN 5:12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
