Just my thoughts:
1Th 5:22 Abstain from all appearance of evil.

What is it that you would be looking for in a night club? Just lost people doing worldly things.
What if by going I caused someone with an alcohol or lust problem to think it is okay and thereby cause them to stumble?

Why would a Christian go to a nightclub?

To dance...to take part in the culture of clubbing?

To find people to witness to? Would they be more likely be dragged into the wordly scene?

There are surely better places for Christians to socialise.

"We have been called out of such darkness"? 1Peter 2:9 etc.

The absolutely vital thing in the Christian life......is to meet Jesus.

There is no doubt in my mind that having met Him........and known His power in the manifestation of such meeting........The question asked here becomes absurd.

It would not be a sin for me to enter a 'night club'..... but I would be like a fish out of the water, an alien environment to my faith in Jesus

We have something better.......in Jesus

"Seek the LOrd while he may be found.......call upon him while he is near"

Get to know Him!

what will a Christ-like be doing in a night club.. doing some research about his christian life?. if a christian is found in a club, it means his heart is idle . and a idle heart will be the workshop of evil.

I voted yes only because if you go "clubbing", you are not putting God first. Going there, being there in itself is not the sin....what it leads you to participate in usually leads to sin.

I knew a pastor who went to a nightclub to talk to a member of his church, trying to bring him out of his darkness so to speak. The guy left with him.

I know someone who takes the Liberty in Christ a bit far by thinking going out to clubs with her husband is ok...she witnesses to people, nothing worse than a tipsy bible thumper!! If any of the drunks :sick2:remember it in the morning then maybe a purpose was served, but I don't think it is God's will for her to do such.

"Clubbing" as a term is very revealing--it means the person is wholly participating in the life.

My idea of being a witness for Jesus Christ is to minister and witness to those people who are entering and exiting the clubs OUTSIDE.

I seem to remember this guy who used to drink and hang out witnessing to bad people as well.
His name
Jesus!

Luk 5:30 But their scribes and Pharisees murmured against his disciples, saying, Why do ye eat and drink with publicans and sinners?
Luk 5:31 And Jesus answering said unto them, They that are whole need not a physician: but they that are sick
Luk 5:32 I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. just a thought.

But no I myself would not go clubbing because then I may be tempted and fall or I may put a stumbling block in front of another brother or sister in Christ.

So it comes down to if you are legitimately led by the Spirit of God to go where he sends you.

Sin is everything that does not spring from faith in God.

It is not always very helpful or satisfactory to label activities sinful or not sinful, and it can be a short cut to legalism rather than to the freedom to which we are called.

There is nothing wrong in itself about having a good time in a nightclub. Your Christian witness to your friends is about your whole life, and you are likely to have more influence on them on the dancefloor than you would outside handing out tracts.

But you ought not be naive about the environment - there is plenty to offend and distract you from your walk with God.

I would say that in the end, this is a question of wisdom, rather than of black and white right and wrong.

Be sensible and make sure you are accountable to Christian friends that you can trust. Then if you do fall (and we all do at some time) you will have someone nearby to help you back onto your feet.

Without knowing you or your situation, its not really appropriate to give a more specific answer.

It depends on your purpose for being there. Some clubs are known for their cuisine. If you go for a nice meal but leave before the "entertainme nt" starts, there shouldn't be a problem.

Well for one thing I do not believe He drank.. Yes, He ate with the sinners, but did not drink with them as you are applying....
Had a brother in Yeshua who went to bars to witness and wound up buying the whole bar a drink.. he wound up drinking also... Sin is sin what does light have in common with darkness...... I have found out witnessing to drunks in Madra Gra does no good it is a joke to them..... I will not throw my pearls before swine... Jesus told us that...

It says in scripture he did. What he drank we do not know. But the main fact is he hung out, eating and drinking, with people who knew they were not righteous. Whether it be drug addicts whether it be drunkards whether it be murderers prostitutes adulterers gay-saxuals etc etc etc.

Me, being born again, I hang out with regular people who have need of Gods love in his justice for them, salvation for them through the Lord Jesus Christ. Any other kind of approach is playing religion.

While I am quite sure that Jesus hung out with lost people there is no mention of Him hanging out in bars or brothels.
It was the kind of folks He hung out with that bothered the self righteous not the places He went.

i've been thinking about this lately

i have a lot of non Christian friends, so I will go out to bars, parties, occasionally 'night clubs' with them till 12am - 1am, etc, as part of witness, friendship, however I don't partake in activities such as excessive drinking and 'picking up'. this is fine for me, as I think, jesus was known to hang out with drinkers and sinners

However, I guess when I think of 'nightclubbing' I think of it as dancing till 5-6am, going to a lot of different clubs, pretty hard to do that without alcohol and other drugs, hooking up with randoms, etc and not get bored, so this is something I've never done and would probably steer clear of, as a Christian, I can still witness to non Christians without embracing everything they do or the extreme version of what they do.

I guess if a friend were having a birthday or something and was going out clubbing to 5-6am, I would probably go on very odd occasions w/out doing excessive drinking, etc, but i guess its not something I would make a habit of because of the value on materialism, drinking, etc. I have some christians friends who actually enjoy the (non promiscuous) dancing, so might be a different story for them

So i guess to conclude my thoughts (however they are still forming) it it is fine to go to bars, etc and on occassion finr the go 'nightclubbing' but not to make it a value in your life, but part of your witness

Jesus could go into those places and not be affected.
But not us.

Who would want to go into one of those places

I would feel out-of-place as the Queen of England at a chittlin cookout!

Let your light Shine!
It can't do much shinning in a place like that!

Stay away
don't give the devil a small opening in your life
that he can get in

come out from among them and be a separated people
and He said he would receive us!

I WOULDN'T BE CAUGHT DEAD IN ONE OF THOSE PLACES!

club

Is going to a club a sin? I don't think so. I think for the average Christian going to a club can lead to sin. Most christian people would have a hard time resisting the temptations of the world that these clubs have to offer. I however will go to a bar with a long time friend of mine. The reason being is because almost every time we go there the subject of the Jesus, God and salvation will come up. Many may say this is just a excuse for me to go to a bar. I beg to differ. My reason for going is to fellowship with him and hopefully the Love of Christ will break through. Many Christians will think this is wrong but I know where my heart stands with God and have no problem going to a bar with him now and then. It seems odd that the only place I can witness to him is on his territory and not mine. I think God will lead you anywhere if your heart is trying to win souls for him. Pray that Kent will someday accept the Lord!
