I was asked in another thread how I knew the Tribulation was seven years long. Well I feel that I should answer this question to the best of my knowledge..



The Tribulation is generally thought to occur before the 2nd Coming off Jesus and the end of the world. It is theorized that each week represents 7 years, with the timetable beginning from the order by King Artaxerxes to rebuild the temple in Jerusalem. After 7 plus 62 weeks, the prophecy says that the messiah will be "cut off", which is taken to correspond to the death of Christ. This is seen as creating a break of indeterminate length in the timeline, with one week remaining to be fulfilled.
This seven-year week may be further divided into two periods of 3.5 years each, from the two 3.5-year periods in Daniel's prophecy where the last seven years are divided into two 3.5-year periods, (Daniel 9:27)The time period for these beliefs is also based on other passages: in the book of Daniel, "time, times, and half a time," interpreted as "a year, two years, and half a year," and the book of Revelation, "a thousand two hundred and threescore days" and "forty and two months" (the prophetic month averaging 30 days, hence 1260/30 = 42 months or 3.5 years). The 1290 days of Daniel 12:11, (rather than the 1260 days of Revelation 11:3), is thought to be the result of either a simple intercalary leap month adjustment, or due to further calculations related to the prophecy.

There are four things listed in Daniel's vision referenced in Daniel 8:9-14, and a time table given for those four things:
1. "the daily sacrifice"
2. "the rebellion that causes desolation"
3. "the surrender of the sanctuary"
4. "the host that will be trampled underfoot"
The time table is "2,300 evenings and mornings."
There are 2,550 days in the seven year period allocated by Daniel 9:27 for the Tribulation, but only "2,300 evenings and mornings" referenced in Daniel 8:14, for daily sacrifice.
This 250 day gap, or 8 1/2 months is the time that will be required for the rebuilding of the Jewish Temple in Jerusalem, after the Antichrist confirms the "covenant."

We operate under the Gregorian calendar of 365 days per year with a leap day every four years. 365 days time 7 years, plus one leap day totals 2,556 days.
Daniel operated under the lunar calendar of 12 periods with 30 days, totaling 360 days per year, with a leap month every 7 years. 360 days time 7 years, plus one leap month totals 2,550 days.
We will not know the day or hour for the Second Coming of Jesus Christ, because if for no other reason, we do not know when the leap month will be applied.

But I am open to another view if one would like to try and explain better then what I can??

the first half of tribulation is 3 1/2 years or 42 months

Rev 12:6 And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred [and] threescore days.
Rev 12:14 And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.

THEN the abomination of desolation happens and GREAT trib begins which lasts another 3 1/2 years or 42 months

Rev 13:5 And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty [and] two months.

Rev 11:2 But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty [and] two months.
Rev 11:3 And I will give [power] unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred [and] threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.

this SECOND half of the tribulation the " great trib" beginning with the abomination of desolation is also confirmed in timing from here till the end by daniel

Dan 12:11 And from the time [that] the daily [sacrifice] shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, [there shall be] a thousand two hundred and ninety days.

THEN the trib ends and 45 days later the rapture/ ressurection happens according to daniel

Dan 12:12 Blessed [is] he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days.Dan 12:13 But go thou thy way till the end [be]: for thou shalt rest, and stand in thy lot at the end of the days.

The beginning of the Great Tribulation is marked by the parousia, the secret appearance of Christ in the clouds. On the earth it is marked by the antichrist's signing a covenant with Israel.

The second half of the Tribulation - which I suppose technically is the real Tribulation, since this is the beginning of persecution on the earth - is marked by antichrist's breaking the treaty on earth and beginning to persecute Israel and the church. In the heavens there is war between Christ and the raptured believers and Satan, where Satan is cast down to earth.

Where is the "secret appearance of Christ in the clouds" recorded in Scripture?

Boy, there is a lot of confusion on this topic. The first step to understanding prophecy is: Forget all that you have read, seen or heard....EXCEPT THE BIBLE. There is no other touchstone for truth. Having said that...
About "the great tribulation" - according to Revelation those who "came out of" it (7:14) are "a great multitude which no man could number of all nations, kindreds, people and tongues" (7:14). No man could number? Does this sound like a 3 1/2 year period to you? We can number the amount of people on the globe right now! However, over the millenia, there is no way to number the saved.
Revelations goes on to say that "they shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more, neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat. For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters; and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes." (7:16-17) An obvious picture of Heaven after this world has passed away. Read Revelations 21:1-4 for the same theme and the picture of "new Jerusalem." So, if you're not part of the "great tribulation" you will not go to heaven? ABSOLUTELY. Read carefully: "These (the multitude that no one could number) are they which came out of great tribulation AND have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb." Are you in tribulation? Have you washed yourself by Christ's blood? Matthew 24, Luke 21 and Mark 13 show plenty of ways to undego tribulation. All of them have been present since Jesus was recognized as Christ. The Bible is stating that tribulation will be underway as soon as Christ ascended and Satan descended - Rev 12:12 "Woe to the inhabitants of the earth! for the devil is come down to you having great wrath, because he knoweth he hath but a short time."
Rapture? First, there is no word "rapture" in the Bible. Second, the idea that it is secret is not what the Bible teaches. Mt. 24:30 "And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven and then shall all of the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory." Again, Mark 13:26 "And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great glory". Again, Luke 21:27 "And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory." Acts 1:11 "Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up in heaven? This same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven." 2 Peter 3:10 "But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, that the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up." Where is the "secret rapture"? Fact is, it is nowhere found that Christ will secretly rapture anyone, nor that he will take believers from some "great tribulation". Why should He? This is totally out of character. Was Paul spared? Peter? Stephen? John? John the Baptist? The billions of people since the beginning of the world who have kept God and Christ's words? Jesus Himself? No. None were spared death, persecution or tribulation. Read Acts 14:22, Romans 5:3, Romans 12:12, 2 Cor. 1:4, 2 Cor. 7:4 about "tribulation". Fact is, tribulation is glorious and edifying. How can you tell what kind of a person you are without going through trial? How can you tell if you're a Christian without it? Read the final beatitudes (Mt. 5:10-11) on persecutions.

ok hear is how I see it

from the going forth of the decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem.

this command is found in Ezra 7 and by Historical evidence we find this beginning date to be 457bc.

now there is seven sevens and sixty two sevens or in simple terms 7*7 and 62*7 now do the math, 7*7=49 which gives us the date 408 which is the year that Jerusalem was completed. then 62*7=434 to the anointed one.

ok follow with me here if we add 49 from the 7*7 with 434 from the 62*7 we end with a total of 483 now take this from 457 which is the beginning date and we are led to 27ad

now what happened in 27ad well in the book of Luke chapter 3 we find in the 15th year of the reign of tiberius Jesus was aninted by the Holy Spirit which in history comes to the date 27ad coincidenc? I think not.

ok so now we got a week left and we know that Jesus preached and tought around three years and check it out thee and one half years later in the year 31ad Jesus was crucified and thus put an end to sacrifices and offerings becasue His death was the new covanent. He was the sacrifice once for all. and 3and one half years after this in the year 34ad Stephen was stoned to death and saul became paul and he was a messenger to the gentiles. does it fit?

well yes 490 years in total were given to GOds people to repent starting in 457 and ending in 34ad. and they refused this mercy by the act of killing the onse Jesus had sent again. so GOd took saul and the message started going out to the gentiles. whereas before the prophets and deciples were told to go to the lost sheep of Isreal but no longer.

this is a really quick rundown hope it causes some exciting study sorry for the spelling but hey you get it. so yeah anyway I do not beleave this is about trib becasue it is past history but it does lead to something really exciting study and you will see really relevent to our day and this time.

I believe Jesus said that the days of great tribulation started with the temple was being destroyed, and the Jews being exiled to the nations.
Matthews GT, is lukes days of vengeance, and Jesus said they started back then and would continue until the times of the Gentiles were fulfilled.

The GT is from then AD 70 -till he comes, which is why you cant count the number that come out of it in Rev 7.
Its been painful for the Jew in Exile and the Church ever since.

Waves and ripples go out from this sun in patterns, which are often predictable, and you see them as sunspots. These waves and ripples from this central sun are moving forth into this sun in this solar system and they are effecting all life. As you have seen from pictures of the sun, certain passageways are being forced open within the sun, itself. The same applies to the Earth and to many, many points within this solar system. "So, My Child, as I showed you, energy from this central sun is traveling into this system via the very large door within the heart of the sun and it is accelerating what already is there and darkness will be accelerated toward destruction and light accelerated toward its source. Understand?"
