Whoever told you that has no idea what they are talking about. If you read all of John 16, you will understand that Jesus was explaining to His desciples that He would be betrayed and He would leave them for a little while(crucified) and then He would be back(resurrection). He would send a comforter(verse 7, which you asked about); the comforter IS the HOLY SPIRIT. Mohammad was born 570 years after Jesus was crucified, do you really think Jesus would have left His disciples without a comforter for 570 years?
Once again you should read the whole of John 16 and do not let anyone try to convince you against the word of God, which is infallible and ALL TRUE.

John 14: 26 Jesus speaks, "But the Comforter which is the HOLY GHOST, whom the Father will send in my name, He shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I said unto you". Jesus said this, not me. If He(Jesus) was going to send a man, He would have said "I will send a man called Mohammad"But He did not. The Holy Ghost is Spirit, not flesh. Mohammad was flesh and died as flesh(did not resurrect)

For arguments sake, let's say Mohammad was for some strange reason the HOLY GHOST(God forbid), Mohammad was anything but a comforter to Christians, he killed Christians and encouraged his followers to do the same. Even until this day, there are parts of the Quaran that encourage Muslims to convert, subdue and if all fails, kill Christians and Jews. These are the words of Mohammad. Quaran 5:52 Mohammad describes Christians and Jews, saying that we have a "diseased heart" and further in 33:60-62 Mohammad says that those with "Diseased hearts" are to be "seized wherever found and slain with a (fierce) slaughter" along with "hypocrites" (Hypocrites being Muslims who associate with people who do not believe in the Muslim god and those who refuse to practice Jihad(religious war) to convert everyone and kill those who refuse to convert). Mohammad had a strong hatred for Christians and Jews and clearly states that we(Christian and Jews) are not friends to Muslims and that Allah hates us. Quaran 4:144 "O ye who believe!(Muslims) Take not for friends unbelievers(those who do not believe in Muslim god) rather than believers: Do ye wish to offer Allah an open proof against yourselves?" Quaran 30:45 "He(Allah) does not love the unbelievers" This is just one mighty proof that Allah is something different to Jehovah(God); God does not hate sinners, as a matter of fact He loves them, He loves them so much that He sent Jesus to die for their sins to give them...GIVE US a chance at eternal life. Jesus says in Mark 2:17 "They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance." Jesus never encourages His disciples to Kill unbelievers...but I digress, I hope I answered your question, Mohammad was definitely not the comforter that Jesus promised His disciples and subsequent followers of Christ.

The quaran does not believe in the Jesus Christ that true believers in the Bible do. The Quaran believes in a man called Isa(Usually translated as Jesus).
Isa, according to the quaran was a great prophet of Allah; however Isa is not God in anyway, shape or form...Isa was NOT the son of God. The bible disputes this John 10:30 " I and my Father are one."
Isa did not die on the cross for anyone's sins, He ascended to heaven without dying or resurrecting; someone else took his place on the cross according to Islam.

Without the crucifixion, the resurrection becomes irrelevant, and without the resurrection, Christianity itself is rendered meaningless.
1 Corinthians 15:14 " And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain."
If Jesus was not crucified, He would have never told His disciples that He would be crucified. More importantly, He would have never told them that He would resurrect.

Mathew 17: 22-23 " And while they abode in Galilee, Jesus said unto them, The Son of man shall be betrayed into the hands of men:
And they shall kill him, and the third day he shall be raised again. And they were exceeding sorry."

As far as the Quran and even the Bible. Many people do not read it cover to cover who say they believe in them.
I had a brother that was raised Christian, went Muslim for 15 years, and then came back to Christian now.

He had some great news about the change. Some of what Jehovah Daughter mentioned.

Like the Muslims do see JESUS ( ISA) as the Messiah. And they are waiting to come back and clear his name. As we know that JESUS says in the greatest commandments, LOVE THE LORD WITH ALL YOUR HEART! and that he can do NOTHING WITHOUT THE FATHER!

So, the discussions between who Jesus is is just a misunderstanding with the Muslims on him being the Son of GOD. But once the understanding of what they WORD made flesh, GOD's word made flesh means, then it's simple.


As far as the eating laws and all.
Honestly, originally from Genesis, we weren't even supposed to eat meat.

Genesis 1:29:Then God said, “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food. we are using it for necessity

Later we were supposed to use animals for necessities like clothes for warmth, covering, etc...but not food
Genesis 3:21:The Lord God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife and clothed them.e:
Proverbs 12:10:The righteous care for the needs of their animals, but the kindest acts of the wicked are cruel.


We were at first to not eat them , but after the flood and our lack of faith it became acceptable to eat clean animals
Genesis 9:2-6:
The fear and dread of you will fall on all the beasts of the earth, and on all the birds in the sky, on every creature that moves along the ground, and on all the fish in the sea; they are given into your hands.
Everything that lives and moves about will be food for you. Just as I gave you the green plants, I now give you everything.

Understanding clean animals which is what we were supposed to be eating
Genesis 7:2-3:
Take with you seven pairs of every kind of clean animal, a male and its mate, and one pair of every kind of unclean animal, a male and its mate,and also seven pairs of every kind of bird, male and female, to keep their various kinds alive throughout the earth.

Clean animals were those that were plant eaters. Not really found today.

Look at Leviticus 11 ( long passage to put up here), but note that the clean animal is not made the same way today as it was then.
Though this is more Old testament law, it shows because of man's weaknesses that GOD had changed for us.
He did it greatest later with Jesus who said, "what goes in a man doesn't defile him!!" Even though JESUS Himself served meat, He didn't really eat any except to prove HE resurrected. To prove to them, HE ate meat. Normally He just "sat at meat (dinner)" with people.


GOD does change his mind in all thing books. Especially when it came to say to let's say destroying us.
HE always stepped back because of a prayer of a prophet crying out to Him.
This is not uncommon in all three of the books; Torah, Bible, or Quran.
So, there should be nothing to be confused about.

Laws of GOD weren't originally made because HE wanted to.
WE were so evil that HE made laws to bind us and make us act better.
If not, He would just be killing us on sin ( as some did get that treatment).
