    other religons

wot do you think about other religions. eg islam. practising there beliefs publicly like marches n public sermons....
my bet is that you will first say..."it is wrong"
but think....if we so highly object to thongs like that. ( many christians i know do) and whant to put a stop to that we are being shallow minded....you see i think that the old primary school rule still aplies in every walk of life...."treat others the way you shuld be treated "
if a muslim made a complaint about christian evangelists who leflet people in the street...the fact is we probibly wouldnt stop doing it....
but i know many christians that have complained mezzuen (public calling of muslims to pray) and get highly offended when nothing is done...
i would like you all to know that i am a christian and believe that christianity is the only path to heaven. we would not like it and we would be offended if a muslim came up to one of us and said.."what you are saying is wrong...please stop" we would be offended...but so many christians publicly display there mind about other religons
the way i see is that we should not judge other religons about there beliefs because we do not whant our religon judged...we believe that jesus christ died and rose again...they believe that the world is made by a turtle....in the same way that i don not whant my faith judged buy others i will not judge others...i will not say "what you think is wrong" because
i do not whant the same to be done to me...

i think i have put my point through....although i dont think very clearly as i am only 16...
please help me buy putting your thoughts as clearly as you can...
    thank you all...
    god bless

Thankyou for your post timnorman. Glad to see you are visiting 'talkjesus' and getting involved.

Regarding other religeons.......we could go on to talk.

But this web-site is entitled 'talkjesus' Dear brother I ask you in all sincerity and from my heart.....have you met Jesus yet? Please come back to me on this. It is extremely important.

Jesus said "I am the Way, the TRuth and the Life" John ch 14.

Without the WAY............there is no GOING
Without the TRUTH......there is no KNOWING
Without the LIFE...........there is no LIVING

"I am the WAY the TRUTH and the LIFE.....thats what Jesus said.

I have no interest in discussing other matters, until I hear from you that you have met Jesus.
Jesus said "I am the WAY the TRUTH and the LIFE"......Without the WAY there is no GOING, without the TRUTH there is no KNOWING without the LIFE there is no LIVING....Thats what Jesus said.

You are a very wise person timnorman and its good to know that you are a Christian.
As Christians we should be more tolerant of other faiths, and as Christians we can only explain to others that following Jesus is the only true way to God, but then it is God that gave everyone freedom of choice.

We are to love all men as Jesus loved the church. If you love your neighbor wouldn't you want for him to not only go to heaven, but to have a relationship with Jesus our Lord and Savior? Of course you would. Just as you would talk to your brother or sister about Christ, you should also talk to your neighbor or the fellow in line in the grocery store. Because you love them and you know that Jesus loves them too.
    Now that is not to say you should hit them over the head with a baseball bat and scream "REPENT"! at them. For most people, this would only serve to turn them away from Jesus. (for others, this might be just the rite thing...lol) <--{Hey, I'm only human.}
During a ritual or serimony may not be the time or place to talk to a muslim about Jesus, but you shouldn't decide that tolerance is what Jesus would want. Come the day that Muslim stands before Jesus to be judged he is going to wish his Christian neighbor talked to him isn't he?

    May God bless you,
    Nigh

Use God's 10 Commandments when evangelizing. God's law is like a mirror, and it showes us how bad we really are when compared to God's holiness. When a sinner sees he is condemned, then he will understand his need of a savior. Check out wayofthemaster.com and tell me what you think.

    Re: Other Religions

    Tim,

Being rude to people of other faiths is not acting in a Christlike manner. When we discuss spiritual things with them, we must respect them as human beings.

When you speak of "judging" them, are you referring to condemning them? Or are you referring to learning about the beliefs and practices of their religion and judging whether or not they line up with God's Word?

Too many Christians attack members of other religions with condemning words instead of being courteous in their approach. They shove a Bible or a tract under the other person's nose and start spewing Scripture verses at them. And they wonder why the other person doesn't convert on the spot.

Its not impossible for a Christian to witness to others politely. What's important is that we be well grounded in the principles we say we believe. If we're not well grounded in Christians principles and beliefs, we will be nervous and fearful when we witness to others. And when we are nervous and fearful in any kind of discussion, we tend to lose our tempers when others challenge what we say. And in losing our tempers, we lose our effective witness.

At some point or another though, you are going to have to show them that they are wrong and you are right. Many people will misconstrue this as being rude, but we are doing it in Christ like love because we would hate to see these people end up in hell because of a false belief. Just because someone gets mad at what we are saying, doesn't mean we have to change the approach. Look at Paul in Acts. At one point he had to be taken out on the shoulders of the guards because what he said angered the people so much. The message of Repent and Trust Jesus will never be one that everyone wants to hear. Check out the website I refered to. It is soundly biblical and totally different from modern evangelicalism, which isn't biblical.
