Does God forgive all sins? - 06-21-08, 03:53 AM

We are all sinful, but does God forgive all sins?

This brings to mind some of the horrific murders and crimes throughout the world. Hitler and how he tortured and killed many people. We also have had some of the most terrible crimes here in Australia, over the years. Ranging from serial murder cases, and unexplained disappearances of innocent people.

I personally believe that God does forgive all our sins, if we are sorry and
repent of them. Even Hitler,if he repented of all his crimes before he died. No one really knows, if Hitler did repent.

What is your opinion? Do you think God forgives all sins?
Your comments are welcome.

That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;
(For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;)
That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.
And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.
This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
1John 1:1-10 (KJV)

We tend to think of a serial murderer as someone that can't be forgiven but we have to remember what Jesus said;
"You have heard that it was said to an older generation, 'Do not murder,' and 'whoever murders will be subjected to judgment.'
But I say to you that anyone who is angry with a brother will be subjected to judgment. And whoever insults a brother will be brought before the council, and whoever says 'Fool' will be sent to fiery hell.
(Mat 5:21~22 Net Bible)

How many time have we been angry at a person for cutting us off in traffic, or angry for a perceived injustice? 10, 20, 100, or 1000 times in a life time?
We are all just as guilty as the serial murderer that commits 10 murders.

As far as suicide, it can also be considered as murder of yourself but the Bible lists only one sin as unforgivable - Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit so apparently suicide can be forgiven.

For this reason I tell you, people will be forgiven for every sin and blasphemy, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven.
(Mat 12:31 Net Bible)

The dying thief - 06-21-08, 06:14 PM

There is a fountain filled with blood
Drawn from Immanuel's veins
And sinners plunged into that flood
Loose ALL their guilty stains

The dying thief rejoiced to see
That fountain in it's day
And so might I though vile as he
Wash All my sins away

Sorry posted before I finished writing in error.

I believe that the Lord forgives all sins of those who come to Him, no matter how bad. Think of the dying thief save din the last moments of his life.

....him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.....John 6:37

I praise the Lord that His mercy and love have meant my sins are all forgiven for now and for eternity.

I sometimes cannot comprehend the depths of His forgiveness but just believe His word.....

Thy truth unchanged hath ever stood
Thou savest thoose who on Thee call
To them that seek Thee Thou art good
To them that find Thee All in All

"Salvation is of the LOrd" (bible)

Judas, had he called upon the lord could have known Salvation. We may have had the gospel according to Judas, but he never repented, never asked God to forgive/save him.

God can forgive all sin....whatever. The dying theif "LOrd remember me.....etc. Jesus said "Today thou shalt be with me....."

God can forgive all sin.......for all have sinned"

Redemption from sin is unlimited to all men, who call on His Name

We have to confess......"If we confess our sin..........." This is the first step.....we have to confess our sin to Jesus....who is faithful to forgive and save......

Jesus said "I am the WAY the TRUTH and the LIFE"......Without the WAY there is no GOING, without the TRUTH there is no KNOWING without the LIFE there is no LIVING....

Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them. Hebrews 7:25

Bless you ....><>

Colossians 1:15-23
15 Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before God made anything at all and is supreme over all creation.* 16 Christ is the one through whom God created everything in heaven and earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can’t see—kings, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities. Everything has been created through him and for him. 17 He existed before everything else began, and he holds all creation together.
18 Christ is the head of the church, which is his body. He is the first of all who will rise from the dead,* so he is first in everything. 19 For God in all his fullness was pleased to live in Christ, 20 and by him God reconciled everything to himself. He made peace with everything in heaven and on earth by means of his blood on the cross. 21 This includes you who were once so far away from God. You were his enemies, separated from him by your evil thoughts and actions, 22 yet now he has brought you back as his friends. He has done this through his death on the cross in his own human body. As a result, he has brought you into the very presence of God, and you are holy and blameless as you stand before him without a single fault. 23 But you must continue to believe this truth and stand in it firmly. Don’t drift away from the assurance you received when you heard the Good News. The Good News has been preached all over the world, and I, Paul, have been appointed by God to proclaim it.
