Ever seen crafty believers? If you have been a believer for quite a while, it's possible that you have encountered many.
It's true that they are saved and are worshipping the Lord but some of their older traits have yet to leave them. Not really a new creature yet. The old things have not passed away.
In Psalm 18 we read the following:
To the faithful you show yourself faithful, to the blameless you show yourself blameless, to the pure you show yourself pure, but to the crooked you show yourself shrewd. (Psalm 18:25, 26)
Truly, the Lord deals shrewdly with the crooked.

I went through a time with my husband regarding some men in the church we had just begun to attend, well my husband had started to join me there, but to my dismay he knew a few of the men there, Only because the memory he had wasn't good, one inparticular who was well involoved in the work of the church, but my husband (unsaved) had worked along side him in employment years before, when he started to tell me the 'unsavoury' things this man got involved in, just as the other men did, as turning a blind eye to things so they could profit, well you can guess the impression it made on my husband, he didn't take kindly to him.
I'm pleased to say that after much attendance, my husband actually commented on it just the other week and has come to the thinking that perhaps it was cause he was caught up with the other men he couldn't do much else.
It was nice to see he had soften his attitude toward him, as he's a very nice man and friendly toward my husband, it wasn't nice when my husband couldn't tolerate him, although I do not agree with what he did being a Christian he should have stood up for the truth and did what was right never minding the other men.
Jesus would have gave him the courage he needed to do so.
Your words brought this back to my mind Jeremiah so thought I'd share it.
That sounds like a great work for God you and yours did in that clinic for 14 years.
