This is a subject i would quite like your views on.Because of the line of work i have often been invoved in i have come into contact with a lot of people some of whom are homosexual.Im a very frank person and have asked many of them why they adopted this lifestyle.To a hetro-sexual person it is a compltete mystery to me how you can find someone of the same sex, sexually attractive?What was interesting about many of their replies is that homosexuals seem to fall into two catergories.The first catergory being people who have had bad hetro-sexual experiences,ie abusive realationships,unfaithful partners etc.They have turned to their own sex in the misguided notion that these things would no longer affect them.It is the second catergory which raises the question that entitles this thread.These are people who are homosexual because they have only ever been attracted to ones of their own sex,in fact the thought of physical contact with the opposite sex is repugnant.So could homosexuality be in the genes?

Now before any of you jump down my throat,i am not condoning homosexuality or saying this as an excuse for people who practice it.All i know is when adam turned his back on god not only did he lose the chance of making this earth one huge garden of eden but he also introduced imperfection into our lives.That imperfection manifests itself in both the mental and physical in us today.I myself have been born with a genetic imperfection,i cant do anything about it i just have to deal with it.Is it the same for some homosexuals,they are born with a genetic screw-up?Is it connected that often homosexual couples are often made up of an effiminate and a masculine figure in some weird parody of a hetro-sexual couple?

Is there any single godly men or women out there who have struggled with their feelings for their own sex,put God first and are single because of it?We are all tested repeatedly,our faith under fire each and every day we all have weaknesses particular to us,is this a weakness some of us constantly battle to overcome?I dont mean to be contentious bringing up this issue but its something ive often thought about and would be interested in any of your views.

I have often seen people bring up the theory of being born homosexual as a kind of justification for being homosexual. The fact is we are all born sinners so does that make sin natural/good?? No. Does a person who was born with a tendency for alcoholism make alcoholism good? Some people might be born with a tenancy to be a child abuser does that make pedophilia good?

You see satan is playing a cunning trick with people. He knows that those who are repentant of their sins and believe in Jesus receive forgiveness for their sins. How can he sabotage this system? Simply by getting people to think that the sin that they sin is not sin at all and no repentance is required.
People who think they have done no wrong never think to seeking forgiveness.

That’s what the whole gay rights movement is about, getting Homosexuals and society to believe that homosexuality is OK. God has declared very clearly that it is an abomination, it matters not a jot weather people are born with a tendency towards being homosexual or if they make a conscious decision to persue a homosexual life style. The Word Of God stands those who say sin is not sin are in rebellion against the Word.

Excellent response Adstar. Very true that satan will get the lost souls, vulnerable lost soul that have no Truth, no Word of GOD in them and deceive them so easily.

"Homosexuals" don't exist they are just confused people who are being tricked by satan I know this for a fact,Over the last five years three "homosexuals" have come to me scared and unsure of what to do. I did not turn them away I took them under my wing and we prayed together and read from the Bible it took some time but I did not give up on any of them and all my hard work has payed off. one fell in love with a beautiful woman and they got married in fact I married them the others have both got "girlfriends" and atend church every sunday.

p.s The first boy I took under my wing,the one who got married his, wife is pregnant.This news brings tears of joy too my eyes she is expecting in 8 months.

it is a generational curse and it should be renounced by a Christian if he claims to be one and declare that he belongs now to Jesus II Corinthians 5:17 that he is now a new creature. Old hings have passed away and new is come in Jesus name. he should continue to renounce it and declare his new identity in Christ Jesus out loud and always.

God loves all people and sent his son to redeem all people ! There has been allot of talk about homosexuality on this site , and I think the answers have been put out there in both love , and judgement. But the truth is that homosexuality is not anything other than bondage ! And it is nasty , and disgusting ! Period ! We as christians do not have to debate the obvious . Homosexuality is unnatural , and nasty ! No more excuses for them ! The word is clear on this subject . Believe the word , and lets stop patronizing these fools who want to keep talking about it . They are only trying to waste our fellowship in Jesus Christ ! This is a statement directed at the many debates on this topic , and not against sparky for starting this thread . I would like to add that any that seek council and support and want freedom from this bondage there is a wonderful site that helps men and women who want to turn from this lifestyle. I agree totaly with you . The problem is , these people do not want help , they just want talk ! I know people who are serious about seeking God sincerely about homosexuality , and they get help . I also know homosexuals who are kind people . But the homosexual act is nasty , and foul , and that is that ! I am not tiptoeing around the act of homosexually anymore ! The way to freedom is truth . In my early years as a practising christian i saw every issue as being black or white.There is no excuse for homosexuality,there is no degrees of wrongdoing,"sin is sin".My original thread was to approach the issue of homosexuality from a commpassionate veiwpoint.
I am not interested in those who flagrantly dissobey Gods word and who have full knowledge of the wrong they are doing.Interestingly within a couple of hours of the original post i recieved a message from someone who has a friend who fitted the criteria.A faithful christian who has struggled(and overcome)feelings for the same sex.In chat this week also i talked with a female who is praying to god for the exact same reason.It is very easy to just dissmiss this subject but if a little more compassion and understanding could help someone come to jesus then so be it.I used to see homosexuals on the same level as pedophiles(all disgusting)but i have learnt to differentiate between the person and the act.If any out there have some sort of inbuilt attraction for the same sex and sucessfully quash those feelings,even to the extent of remaining single because of love for God over their fleshly desires then i applaud them.I started this thread to help ME get a better understanding and to not be so judgemental.Jesus mixed with all types of people(prostitutes ect)never condoning the acts but always endeavouring to reach the person.The book of revelation tells us in chapter 21 that the former things of this world will pass away and all things will be made new,i like to think this includes unnatural desires along with the rest of the wickedness that surrounds us today.
