I just wanted God to get rid of it and help me out. I've told my parents and my pastor now and their going to help me.

My mother said a verse the other day with something along the lines of "God helps those who help themselves", and I've been questioned a lot by people about why homosexuals have to go to hell and why can't everyone just be happy and free. Maybe God is going to use me in the homosexual community some day! I'm curious to see what'll happen. Right now.. I'm attempting my hardest to abstain from all homosexual thoughts, desires or anything related to not feed that part of me and let it wither.

Lord it would be so much easier if you sent me an angel <3 hehe
Then again it's not always about the easy way, he gives and takes away! ;)
Here's where you problem is. You are trying to rid yourself of you sin and yet, the Only person in the World that can rid of us of the bondage of sin is Jesus Christ. You are relying on your own strength to rid yourself of these homosexual thoughts, but I'm sorry, Humans are weak. We cannot rid our sin by our own strength. We must Rely on LORD only in situations like this. Turn to God and give him your life because he is the only one that can and WILL rid you of these feelings.

I'd like to point something out - or make a valid observation, if I may.

First of all, for anyone who has homosexual tendencies, or is filled with sexual impulses, or "has a need to have or engage in sex."

Really? Is engaging in sex...whether it's straight sex, or homosexual sex actually arequirment in this life? Because if it is, then that's what rules our life.

So in other words, we are worried because we either have no sex, or the wrong kind of sex, or we are worried if we have the wrong kind of thought.

While I understand the Biblical stance about sex, sometimes we tend to put too much thought on sex alone, and not enough thought on life itself.

Look around, stop and smell the roses. Yes I am talking to men also. This life is MORE than sex.

EXCELLENT point, Ed! I was surprised to find that sex is entirely unnecessary and can be put away completely.

Thing is, on some of this stuff: NO, WE ARE NOT UNDER THE LAW!

BUT: When the HOLY LORD GOD ALMIGHTY Creator of all the universe says something is an 'ABOMINATION' to Him, and when He says it should be 'PUNISHABLE BY DEATH' > HEY! That's a clear heads up that it ain't gonna be pretty in the final judgment for those that willfully & intentionally do such things!! There aren't that many 'sins' that were classified as punishable by death as I recall; homosexuality, beastiality, incest, murder etc. I'm not personally into playing 'Merciful God' games.

When a particular sin is mentioned several times in both the Old & New Testament, with BOTH testaments classifying it as punishable by eternal damnation, shouldn't we take this as a hint? A clue? That this is just maybe something to NOT do?

There's a mighty big difference between sinning here & there in our ongoing walk with the Lord and with setting out to intentionally commit a sin as a matter of course in our entire lifestyle. Example: God forgives murder in the sacrifice of Jesus, thank God! So, let's say a person killed somebody, or several somebodies, and then became Christian and repented & changed their ways: FORGIVEN! Or possibly a Christian becomes overcome with anger and in a rage kills somebody, accidentally: FORGIVEN! Let's say that same person did the same things, supposedly became Christian, and then spent the rest of their life as a professional hit man: NOT FORGIVEN!

Or to take a sin more equal to that of homosexuality, as not listed specifically in the 10 Commandments, but punishable by death in the Old Testament Law: incest. Someone who committed incest and then repented and turned to the Lord: FORGIVEN! Someone who is the father of 3 daughters and claims Christianity as his belief and Jesus as his Lord, who daily assaults his daughters: NOT FORGIVEN! Same for a person regarding bestiality. Why? Because these are an abomination to God, intolerable as a lifestyle.

As a Christian it's now a relationship based on the heart & spirit, that we are joined to Jesus by a right heart, right mind and right spirit, and so is His Spirit dwelling within us. So does Holy Spirit want to hang out with a career drunk, an unrepentant incestuous father, an unrepentant person engaged in bestiality? Would He indwell there at all? Should that person expect a heavenly reward of blessed eternal life in the presence of the Holy God?

The sin issue and the relationship with Jesus all hinge on one thing: repentance. We will not be forgiven for knowingly & intentionally committing sin with no repentance, the Bible is clear on that.

In my favorite, King James version, in both Old & New Testament homosexuality is specifically spoken against by God and by His apostles and is punishable by eternal death.

Way back in Genesis 19:4-8, God speaks against homosexuality & sodomy, then again in Leviticus 18:22-29, He clearly says, "Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination. Neither shalt thou lie with any beast to defile thyself therewith: neither shall any woman stand before a beast to lie down thereto: it is confusion. Defile not yourselves in any of these things: for in all these things the nations are defiled which I cast out before you: And the land is defiled: therefore I do visit the iniquity thereof upon it, and the land itself vomiteth out her inhabitants. Ye shall therefore keep my statutes and judgments, and shall not commit any of these abominations: neither any of your own nation, nor any stranger that sojourneth among you: [for all these abominations have the men of the land done, which were before you, and the land is defiled;] That the land not spew you out also, when ye defile it, as it spewed out the nations that were before you. For whoever shall commit any of these abominations, even the souls that commit them, shall be cut off from among their people."

That's followed by Leviticus 20:13, "If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them."

It is picked up again in Deuteronomy, 23:17, "There shall be no whore of the daughters of Israel, nor a sodomite of the sons of Israel."

It could not be more clear. From these verses we know for a fact that homosexuality and its sodomy is an extreme offense against God, with death as the punishment! To tell someone that Jesus loves homosexuals, as if they would be forgiven, is to have their blood on your hands for eternity, and to receive the eternal punishment as well. This is a deadly serious matter, far beyond what you imagine in your own mind!
Excuse me, but you have no right to tell me whether or not I have read the bible. I'm not refuting what anyone here is saying, nor (and ESPECIALLY) am I refuting what the Bible itself says, I'm just saying it could be approached with more compassion. When you attack someone, it's much less affective than simply speaking to them with a kind heart.

How would you feel if all of your sins were exposed and you were treated so unkindly? NONE of us are sinless. NONE. Therefore none of us have the right to point fingers.

37 “Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven" (Luke 6:37)

Jesus must not have gotten the memo. There are many examples of Jesus not speaking with a so-called "kind heart". Maybe God messed up in the Old Testament, as well? The Apostle Paul also screwed up with his "deserve death" comment, heh?

Christians are losing the battle for America's soul because we have been cowed into not standing up for what is right, or in doing so in such a timid fashion.

37 “Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven" (Luke 6:37)
    1) Mainstream Christians only follow that teaching on Politically Correct matters, like abortion and homosexuality.
    2) Forgiving cannot be done as long as the sin continues.
    3) What is true for the individual is not necessarily true for the state. The government has an obligation to judge and condemn when someone commits a crime. And, only a very corrupt government protects and supports immoral behavior.

Say what you want about me. Only God can judge me. You are all welcome to your own opinions.

Regardless of your un-kind words, you will not keep me from Him.

First, I said: "DeiSponsa, apparently you read a different Bible than the 7 or 8 versions I have here, or you've never read it, or cannot comprehend what it says, or don't care one way or the other."

From your answers that comment of mine still stands! I cannot apologize for doing what Jesus and the Bible have told me to do: tell the truth, lead others into truth, show the way to salvation!

Your original post > "I'll probably get attacked for stating my opinion, but honestly, I don't think there's anything wrong with you, nor with homosexuality. That doesn't mean I'm condoning premarital sex, etc...but I believe that if, indeed, you are homosexual, you are just as equally deserving of Christ's love.

We are all made incredibly different for a reason. I can't pretend to know God's plan or reasoning, but what I do know with certainty is that He loves.

I personally believe that love is love. As people, it's not our right to tell you whether you or anyone else is right or wrong. At the end of the day, though someone will always have something to say, whether in support or opposition, this issue is between you and God.

    *Hugs*"

DeiSponsa, according to Scripture you're in gross error on those highlighted points. It is not only my right, but my direct responsibility as a caring participating Christian to warn others of the penalty for their sin and to pass on exactly what Scripture says in regard to it.

You claim not to refute the Bible, yet your comments are a direct opposite of what it says about homosexuality! Then you're throwing a spin on it to make it sound like you didn't say what's written by you on page 2 of this thread. I'd far rather point a finger or correct someone and prove it by Scripture than give *HUGS* and personally cause them to perish forever in the fires of hell!

If you want to correct me, then please show the Scriptures, chapter & verse, where God the Father, or Jesus, or the Holy Spirit of God condones homosexuality or says the He loves the praticing homosexual? Not generalized platitudes, but specifically: Homosexuality! Last I read, He called it ABOMINATION!

It is just such a non-Scriptural attitude of condoning homosexuality that has caused countless young persons to be drawn into the dark web of its sin, only to find that a very poisonous spider awaits, and then after that incredible suffering, eternal damnation!

How many times have you watched a young man in his 20's or 30's, supposedly at the peak of youth, suddenly start wasting away to the ravages of AIDS? You really have to experience it first hand to understand the astounding destruction & pain that's caused by AIDS.

The horribly emaciated body, colorless skin, sunken eyes, dark vacant stare, total helplessness to control bodily functions, inability to perform even the simplest activity and all with the stench of death already hanging in the room because they are the living dead: yeah, you kinda gotta be there to understand! Believe me, the final end is real special.

Mater of fact, if you're so strong on a pro-homosexual view and giving hugs, why don't you try some volunteer work with AIDS patients? I guarantee you it will be very, very memorable.

You know what, I HAVE worked and volunteered with AIDS patients. They are beautiful people with a horrible disease. That can, if you want to remind yourself, be brought on by other ways. Yes unfortunate choices are behind it sometimes.

Keep pushing, buddy. Keep talking. Keep assuming. I have nothing more to say to you.

You don't need to recite my own words to me.

Lawligator, You're 17 years old. ALL 17 year old boys go through this kind of testing during adolesence. I had this struggle as a teenager myself and it was rough, but, even though I didn't know Him at the time, Jesus brought me through it. BTW, "God helps those who help themselves" isn't in the Bible and isn't Scriptural. It was written by Benjamin Franklin in "Poor Richard's Almanac".

Actually that's a erroneous statement on your part SLE, I never went though any testing concerning my sexual orientation during my teen years, nor during any period. I imagine many others haven't gone through that testing either.

I think that when a man is gay, or even has a tendency to be gay, then they go through it. Of course, those who are born to be Christian are affected strongly by such experiences.
