The scariest word
'GOD WILL...TREAT YOU EXACTLY AS YOU TREAT THEM.' MATTHEW 7:1
If you had to make a list of the scariest words in the world what would be on it? Chances are this word would be pretty high on the list; Rejection. That's something about being human that means we have a deep need to be accepted and appreciated. There are two ways to deal with this scary word. The first way is to change for the worse and start doing all sorts of things that you don't really feel comfortable doing just coz you think that's the way you've got to be to 'fit in' and not get the cold shoulder.
The second way is to change for the better and start looking for ways that you can let other people, people who maybe spend most of their time feeling like outsiders, know that they actually are amazing creations who God has a plan and purpose for. Solomon said, 'It's wonderful to say the right thing at the right time' (Proverbs 15:23 NLT).
Have you any idea how many of the people you know never hear a word of appreciation? People aren't mind-readers; when you see something good in someone, tell them. Don't wait for a sign from Heaven first! Think about practical ways you can help people feel accepted and appreciated. Paul said, 'Whenever we have the opportunity we should do good to all' (Galatians 6:10 NLT). God's blessed you to be a blessing, so don't hold back today.
