Son Subject to the Father... co-equal (?) - 09-25-06, 11:32 PM

The Trinity doctrine suggests that the Son and the Father a co-equal / co-eternal. The above statement suggests otherwise...

Food for thought,

Re: Son subject to the Father........co-equal? - 09-26-06, 01:01 AM

Jesus came to earth as both God and man; fully God AND fully human. "Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death - even death on a cross." (Phil 2:6-8).

Jesus' submission to the Father in the work of redemption was an act of cooperation (as God) and of obedience (as man).

You won't find me argue the point that Jesus had a dual nature....he was very God and fully man. As it is written, he was "God manifest in the flesh."

Jesus was submissive (cooperative and obedient) to the Father per his human nature.

The Scripture does not suggest that one person of God or 1/3 of God was manifest in the flesh. It simply states that God (himself) was manifest in the flesh....and that flesh was called the Son of God.

As it is written....reconciling the world unto "himself" (not to another)

(2 Cor 5:19 KJV) To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

Re: An other Jesus? - 10-16-06, 02:16 AM

I see major change happening in the Roman Catholic Church. People are fleeing their pews in large numbers in the United States and the hierarchy is being forced to examine its attitudes. Entrenched ecclesiastical bureaucrats have fought change and fought change and fought change. What they have trouble seeing is that the Holy Spirit is behind the changes; that God is preparing his bride, that the marriage feast of the Lamb is not going to look like they think it will look.

I'm glad that i'm no longer a roman catholic even my family use to be against me of being a born again Christian going to a non denominational church. But really, since I was catholic I always wanted to go to a church like i am right now even in the past i did major bad things and im glad God show me a RIGHT church that more loving then any other place that I would ever go to and even my church is small but it does got a big heart everyone in my church is like my family and my pastor is like my dad...

But funny all the catholic that I no don't always seems to much to obey God that I feel except for the priest and nuns that I know of..But I think that they struggle more then we are because my family they all are big sinner sometimes and im the only one the house that obey to God more but it struggles me to live in a non christian family

There is only one Jesus... - 01-13-07, 03:45 PM

Shall we now fight in the name of Jesus. There is only one Jesus and He is the savior of the world, this is what Catholic faith teaches. Before judging we must know what is the teaching of the catholics. Mass and sacraments are not ways of salvation but they are only channels of grace, sanctifying grace by which one is strengthened to respond to the salvation offered by Jesus Christ. Catholics believe in Scripture and Traditions. Not only scripture, there are also unwritten traditions hand down to us from Jesus, appostles and so many others who lived before us. Let us not reject all that is good. This is only humble suggestion. Let us not claim that this church or that church has true Jesus. Let us be happy that we are all one in Jesus.

Hey Stylez4Christ,
you hang in there, I assume you have to live there?, and If you do...God will not give you more than you can handle. When you are following God closely others will see and be blessed by your example...as you become the light in the darkness..darkness can't persist and eventually will fade away. I encourage you to be strong in the Lord and in your weakness he will be strong for you.

Hi maciek,
I'm reminded of the religious leaders of Jesus time when they lived and imposed the law and their interpretations, of which some of those interpretations became traditions. We learn through the new testament how much this way of living really did not help much those who wanted to become closer to God but instead they were discouraged.

It was not until Jesus came to the picture that set the record straight..He was not here to abolish the law but to fulfill it and by his sacrifice and death we could have a RELATIONSHIP with God.

So we have to be careful not to fall on that trap again regarding -having to do something for the sake of tradition- but instead we are grateful for our salvation and hope of eternal life. So then, We do because we Are and not the other way around.

In His Love,

maxseven.
