Our Purpose: to show you the love of Jesus Christ, His promises of
Salvation & Blessings and to spread the Good News to the ends of the
Earth [Mark 16:15]. We're also here to edify the church
[Ephesians 4:11-12].
Hi
I was wondering is there some clear signs before the day of the Lord comes? Jesus spoke about great tribulation and said we will see when the time is near. I recon the tribulation hasnt started yet. And there's also another thing, A son of perdition is suposed to be revealed before the day of the Lord comes, whom God will destroy then.
2Th 2:2-4 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. (3) Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; (4) Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
2Th 2:6-9 And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time. (7) For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. (8) And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: (9) Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
So this some one is supposed to be revealed and make wonders and appear as "god" . But when Lord comes He will destroy him.
So I'm sure he has not come yet..
And what is that is still in the way? 2Th 2:7
It could be that this the beast of revelations whom people will worship.
In any case I wonder why Jesus told us to watch exactly? (Luk 21:34-36, Luk 12:40 ) He will come like a thief in the night but there will be also these things by which we know the day of the Lord is not immedient. Or have I understood this correctly?
Luk 21:17 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake.
Luk 21:20 And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh.
Luk 21:24 And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.
Luk 21:29-32 And he spake to them a parable; Behold the fig tree, and all the trees; (30) When they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand. (31) So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand. (32) Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled.
Luk 21:34-36 And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. (35) For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. (36) Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.
As regards the final signs leading up to Christ's coming, Paul made a interesting prophecy in his first letter to the Thessalonians: "Now concerning the times and the seasons, brothers, you have no need to have anything written to you. For you yourselves are fully aware that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. While people are saying, "There is peace and security," then sudden destruction will come upon them as labor pains come upon a pregnant woman, and they will not escape." (1 Thessalonians 5:1-3, ESV) Notice, the world of non believers will be saying, "There is peace and security." Which is kind of ironic, because over the past few years, world leaders have often used these words, "peace and security!" I do not believe that is a coincidence, so perhaps Jesus' coming is very close indeed.
As regards the man of lawlessness: Paul wrote in 2 Thessalonians 2:3, 4: (NIV) "Don't let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the man doomed to destruction. He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God's temple, proclaiming himself to be God." And in verse 8 he wrote: (NIV) "And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will overthrow with the breath of his mouth and destroy by the splendor of his coming." It is vital that we identify this man of lawlessness. Why? Because he is intent on undermining our good standing with God and our hope of eternal life. How? By getting us to abandon the truth and to believe falsehoods in its place, thus diverting us from worshiping God. So who is this man of lawlessness? 2 Thessalonians 2:9, 10, (NIV) gives us a clue: "The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with the work of Satan displayed in all kinds of counterfeit miracles, signs and wonders, and in every sort of evil that deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved." Was Paul speaking of a single individual? NO! for he states that this "man" was evident in Paul's day and would continue in existence until God destroyed him. 2 Thessalonians 2:7, says: (NIV) "For the secret power of lawlessness is already at work." Thus, he has existed for many centuries. Obviously, no literal man has lived that long. So the expression "Man of lawlessness" must represent a type of people.
So what type of people do you know who: Display all kinds of counterfeit miracles, signs and wonders, and they are associated with Satan! (2 Thessalonians 2:9, 10) Well, just look at who Jesus said was performing counterfeit miracles, signs and wonders, and they are associated with Satan! In John 8:44, (NIV) Jesus said: "You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father's desire." Yes!!! it was the bad religious leaders of his day. Remember what Jesus said in Matthew 7:22, 23: "Many will say to me on that day, (The time of the end) 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?' Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!'" The man of lawlessness is a type or group of bad religious leaders who mislead many with powerful works, but only for their own selfish ends! If you have ever watched Christan TV, you will see any number of so called Christian preachers that could easily fall under the description of this man of lawlessness.
So these two prophesies that point to the time of the end and Jesus' second coming are already being fulfilled!!!
Here are the signs...we are to be ready, and when we think Jesus can return any time, the Bible says ...not yet. Being prepared and Jesus said...go. No one knows except the Father when Jesus will come. Not too much can be said beyond this and be 100% sure.

Thanks Davy. Those are interesting thoughts, still i'm quite unsure if that's the wholes story or correct one...
I dont think the scripture is clearly saying that the Son of perdition is already on earth. Perhaps he is one of satans angels that has not manifested him self yet because there something preventing 2Th 2:6 And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time.
Also he will make him self shown as god.
I have to think that its single thing like the beast of revelation that was worshipped but the same power of lawlesness is already at work but the Son perdition him self hasnt been able to come yet.

the signs we have now are not signs of end but signs end coming near. if i understood correctly.
I agree but maybe we'll find some new info on this biblestudy.
The RCC could be the son of perdition. it fits very well in picture because they worship the pope and saints and dont teach that Jesus saves.
thx
The man of sin could be modern Edomites.Esau/Edom
Modern Edomites Esau/Edom are friendly with the RCC,yet if Edomites did not exist,Obadiah 1:18 could not be fulfilled.
These modern Edomites control the media and can portray people how they want.
They control the sex slavery trade, pornography, they promote the homosexual rights and promote drugs as well as anti-Christianity.
These are the enemies of Jesus and Christianity.
These are the people who are Pharisees in their religion, and anti-christs collectively as a people.

Hi Elisha
but they dont do miracles and wonders and show them self being god.
maybe their part of the pack however, anti-christ.

God bless
Esau/Edomites are antichrists in plural(1 John 2:18)
I think do show themselves as God.
They are respected with a godly respect as well as a fear by many brainwashed Christians, yet they do not care for you either way.
You ever wonder why some topics on theology are so sensitive?
2 Thessalonians 2:4:Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
Connect the dots..........how can they do all the things in 2 Thessalonians 2:4?
1 Corinthians 3:16:Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
1 Corinthians 3:17:If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.
1 Corinthians 2:16:For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? but we have the mind of Christ.
They control the media, the news, the governments-They can make you think and do what they want!
