The Plan Of Jesus`s Suffering.
Matt 20:18-19A(ASV)
Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be delivered unto the chief priests and scribes; and they shall condemn him to death, 19 and shall deliver him unto the Gentiles.
The apostles knew they were now headed for Jerusalem to celabrate passover with Jesus, but they did not understand that He would be the ultimate Passover Lamb (REV 13:8), as Scripture predicted. Even after His resurrection, He had to rebuke two disciples for their skimpy knowledge of this:And he said unto them, O foolish men, and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken! 26 Behooved it not the Christ to suffer these things, and to enter into his glory? 27
Luke 24:25-27 (ASV). Time would pass and Peter, Luke and Paul also would write, I like the phrase "Testify".
Concerning which salvation the prophets sought and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you: 11 searching what time or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did point unto, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glories that should follow them
1 Peter 1:10-11 (ASV)
and he said unto them, Thus it is written, that the Christ should suffer, and rise again from the dead the third day;
Luke 24:46 (ASV)
For I delivered unto you first of all that which also I received: that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 and that he was buried; and that he hath been raised on the third day according to the scriptures
1 Cor 15:3-4 (ASV)
Jesus suffering was always in God`s plan Acts 2:23 (ASV): him, being delivered up by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye by the hand of lawless men did crucify and slay:
When the Lord was an infant, His parents brought Him to the temple to present Him to God, at which time Simeon told Mary, "and Simeon blessed them, and said unto Mary his mother, Behold, this child is set for the falling and the rising of many in Israel; and for a sign which is spoken against; 35 yea and a sword shall pierce through thine own soul; that thoughts out of many hearts may be revealed".
Luke 2:34-35 (ASV)
When John the Baptist annouced His earthly ministry,he declared:"On the morrow he seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold, the Lamb of God, that taketh away the sin of the world"!
John 1:29 (ASV)
We also John testify of it in Rev 5:5-6 (ASV): and one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not; behold, the Lion that is of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, hath overcome to open the book and the seven seals thereof.
6 And I saw in the midst of the throne and of the four living creatures, and in the midst of the elders, a Lamb standing, as though it had been slain, having seven horns, and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God, sent forth into all the earth.
You might ask yourself "How do you approach pain and trials differently and more maturely now than you did in earlier days?
What has God taught you in the midst of it all?
And how is that what I`ve been taught and have learned be shared and past on to those that need this in their life.
Just a thought for today.
Amen
