What did the Lord mean when he said that?
I take it to mean that he told us everything we needed to know about his coming.

I dont think Paul had anything to add, nor Peter or John.
1Thess was Pauls first letter and in it he says this.

Peter also, when he is teaching on his coming, reminds his readers that it is the Lords promise he refers to.
Both Peter and Paul add no new revelation, but rather say that this is what the lord said and we need not to say anymore concerning the lords promise.
Jesus is the one who opened their minds, after the ressurection, to show them things concerning himself-lk 24, and he dictates his revelation to John.

Tell me, how can those who pierced him ,see him coming, when it appears that their ressurection is after the millenium?
Jesus is already the ruler, and we are already a kingdom of priests
