All John Ortberg is saying is there are pathways that you as an individual connect with God over others. If you are an intellectual, you will feel closer to God when you study the Word of God. If you are more musical, you will connect with God in Praise and worship, if you enjoy Serving, then you connect with God through serving. He is saying each of us has ways of connecting with God that may differ with others in the body and that we should not say, this is the way and it’s my way or none. God is a spirit and whatever means you can connect with him on a spiritual level that is how he will speak to your recreated heart as an individual. If you are born again, your spirit man is born again and new. As you listen to the Christ in you, the Spirit will teach you how to connect with God and what avenue you as an individual will use to do it.

Now if you’re into burning incense and bowing before a Buddha, then we need to talk! That is not God! Wrong Avenue here folks! LOL

Of course we read the word and study Gods word, but what do you as an individual do that connects your spirit man with God that may differ from another. God uses all avenues to connect with the true and living God, and John 14 and 16 says it’s the Holy Spirits job to lead us into all truth. So, again what avenue do you easily gravitate toward that opens your heart to hear God??? Music, worship, serving, nature, education, get the drift???
