As I was reading your post, this is what I saw, I don't know if it helps or not.
I found it interesting that it was a 'telephone pole' that basically reached into the heavens. What is the significance of that except perhaps it is a discription of the 'age of grace' where we all have immediate contact with God... but when the end times come, it is an age of wrath because those who don't believe in God are less likely to believe. Rather than turn to God in the earthquakes, food shortage, boils, etc, they will be blaming God.
Your pain at the lashing could be indicative of all of the believers who will stand up for God and be punished by man for it.
What a dream!! I hope this helps, but I don't pretend to have the gift of interpretation of dreams like Daniel or Joseph... I can not say that God says any of these things to you. Only I do... which doesn't mean much
