I think that the author is very confused about carnal nature and spiritual nature and the difference between the two.
Everything he described is carnal behavior and these pathways lead to religious mindset rather than becoming spiritually minded. I found it very typical that he associated most of the categories with "going to church" or "during church", implying that one must attend religious liturgy in order to relate to Father. This kind of teaching does not promote spiritual growth. Denying self, taking up your cross in submission to HolySpirit is the only path to spiritual maturity. Being a Christ follower is not about finding a way that you are well suited for or comfortable with, it's about becoming crucified. Read brother Paul's letters, he taught differently. I have not read the book, but by what I have seen posted in this thread, there's no need.
