Current 08/08/08: I am a 21 year old, wife of one 22 year old, mother of one 17 month old boy.

I grew up in a Christian home, school, church, country too predomintantly! (Australia) But considered myself atheist / agnostic til April / May 2003 when I started -trying- to follow the Lord!

Despite some major and minor unexpected events I'm still trying, but I realise my personal relationship with him is sorely lacking. I want to find a way to fix it up quick! (But I'm willing to take time and be patient if that's what I need.)

I have a lot of questions, I would love to go to bible college but neither time nor money allows, I LOVE to learn more about my faith and God in ways that grow and challenge me. I love to help and counsel others to the best of my God-given ability.

I am looking forward to meeting all of you and hopefully making many new Christian online friends, because at the moment I'm a bit isolated from my irl Christian friends and my main online friends don't share my faith which, believe me, -really- can be hard.

Anon*.

*As in the Shakespearean 'at once' / 'soon'. Cause obviously I'm not anonymous!

Welcome to Talkjesus - I sincerely hope you'll be very happy here. Although neither of my parents were church goers on a regular basis, like you, I too grew up in a Christian environment. The trouble was, I found, once I started work, I became an adult in an adult world, and was expected to behave like one, which I did! God was soon forgotten, the only time I thought about Him was when there were problems, but once the crisis was over I'd be back to my old ways. It wasn't until six years ago, just millimetres away from a nervous breakdown, that I sought - and found the meaning of true salvation. Since that moment my life has never been the same. If you read just one book, read the book of John, and accept the the Lord Jesus Christ loves you exactly as you are, warts and all. How much does he love you? He opened His arms and died for you - that is how much. What does he want in return? Absolutely nothing. Read some of our testimonies in the testimonial section - I am the Christian of convenience.

You say you love to help and counsel others. Although you are not aware of it at the moment, the Holy Spirit bestows certain gifts on individuals. He calls you in accents meek and low.
Peace be with you, Fred.
