If we are to be like our Lord, we would endeavor to be in a state of voluntary humility always.

We would always esteem(regard, value) others better than ourselves; we would not look on our own welfare, but on the welfare of others; we would not make ourselves of reputation, but would make ourselves last of all, and servants of all; we would humble ourselves, and become obedient unto death; we would deny our own will, and carry our own load; we would not save ourselves, and come down from the cross; we would take the wrong, and forgive; we would give up our rights; we would not confront, nor withstand mistreatment; we would be prepared to forsake all that we have; we would love no one more than Christ; we would not think that Christ came into the world to send peace.

But a sword; we would be His friend; we would be where Christ would be; we would agree with Him, that the works of the world are evil; we would not accept honour from man; we would not accept testimony from man; we would not be at the table being served, but rather the one serving; we would not suppose that His kingdom is of this world; we would hate willful, deliberate sin; we would not go to the highest, but always to the lowest; we would beware of selfish desires; we would not call Him, Lord, Lord, and not do the things which He says; we would feed, and take in, and cloth, and visit the persons of lowest estate; we would not call eachother good, knowing that there is none good but one; we would become as little children (harmless, blameless); we will be as lambs among wolves; we will know that the heart of the Lord is mercy; and such like things shall we do.

As for self image, I of my own self can do nothing, as I hear, I judge, and my judgment is just, because I SEEK NOT MINE OWN WILL, but the will of the Father; again, For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please (ie: impress, flatter) men, for if I yet pleased (ie: impressed, flattered) men, I should not be the servant of Christ; and again, How can ye believe, which receive honour one from another, and seek not the honour that cometh from God only; again, ...the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to stoop down and unloose; again, Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, OŽLord; and, For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle; and, Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints,..
We have our image. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
