Hi Mirjam,

this is great news, fit for the Kingdom.

I will answer you in sections. One step at a time.

Do not let anything I say here put you off, but rather, be strengthened in your conviction... your faith and determination, your confidence in Jesus.

OK.

First, ask yourself why you are getting baptised.

I know that when you get baptised you're going to live your life the best like Jesus did. I'm now thinking about it, what it all means. Can anybody help me with pointing things out how to live the best like Jesus did ?

Getting baptised is about YIELDING to Jesus. It is repenting and turning to Him, being immersed in Him, being grafted to Him, that He may live His life in and through you. It is not you living the best, but Him living the best in you and through you.
It is also entering into His grace for you, where the good you do is Him doing that good, and for you, it is being exalted to live your life, hidden in Him.

Remember, it is in believing that you are saved, not what you do. Now this does not mean to live recklessly, God forbid, but it means that you do not need to strive to live the best.

You already believe. Getting baptised is sealing your commitment to the Lord. He is faithful and true, and does not need to seal His faithfulness, but we must make that move in faith to declare our faith... to move into His Kingdom, so to speak.

You believe. He does the rest.

We keep the comandments because He puts a new Spirit in us. You already desire to live well for Him, and this is because He has made all things new for you.

Keeping the 10 commandments is only something He can do, so if you want to do this, you need to let Him do it for you.

It is because He first loved us that we love him. Therefore, my advice to you is to thank Him, to rejoice in Him, to praise Him, to have your hope in Him, to trust Him and to love Him. If you do this, Mirjam, then living the best for Him and keeping His commandments will come naturally, and will be your new life.

People used to attempt to keep the 10 commandments and because they failed, a price had to be paid, much like in our lands today, if we break the law of the land. Jesus paid our price at Calvary, and we now live according to the life He gives us, because He gives us life.

It is only by grace we are saved, not by our good works.

hope this helps.

Bless you ...><>
